Dude (original poster), you better get this straightened out with your insurance company and the police right away. Failure to do so will leave you with almost no leverage over the person who damaged your car and it will just hurt the value of your 1 further down the line. Generally you have a grace period with the police for filing an accident report - go file one. Next tell your insurance co. what happended. Both these things may seem like hassles and sure, I know you wish it had never happened and the whole thing would go away real fast, BUT it did happen and there is only one correct way to fix it.

In California, he had 10 days to file a DMV SR1 being in an accident. They will find out, and then he will get in big trouble. I went thru this a couple months ago. Not to mention, the law also states you must report any accident to your insurance no matter what the situation was. Better pray.
