While I agree it is plenty fast I think the numbers listed in that comparison are very misleading and actually kind of make me laugh. Just because a 1M may hang with a car in 5th gear from 50-70 means absolutely nothing in the relative power/speed of it versus the other car. I believe in the times listed it shows that the 1M is faster than a GT3 3.8, R8 V10, GT-R, etc in some of those tests. I'm sorry but the 1M will get SMOKED by any of those cars straight line or around a road course and that is the fact. Those cars are geared in 5th to reach speeds of 160-170+ MPH whereas the 1M probably is geared in 5th to reach maybe 140. Again, really like the 1M, hoping to get one, but these numbers are very misleading...

I think you meant 5th gear . . . should get about 165 by redline in 5th.

For example: in those tests the 1M beats the long-geared Porsche GT3RS in every acceleration listed by between .2 and .4 seconds. But put them both in the "right" gears and the Porsche will cover 30-90 in 5.9 seconds, while the 1M takes a more leisurely 7.1. Hmm...

So just before I get in my next street race with a super car I'm going to yell to the guy in the GT3 RS to please use 5th gear, just like I'm going to do. This should work out to my advantage.

You guys seriously crack me up. Try racing the GT3 RS, GT-R, etc from 60-130, the REAL measure of a car's potential power/acceleration and it will probably be a difference of around 3-4 seconds. Not dogging on the 1M as I really am trying to get one. I think for the price it is a GREAT performance car but to think that it can hang with the cars listed is not accurate. No need for hurt feelings...

I think you'll find the results are closer than you think... I'll be using a Racelogic Performance Box for the testing and will share the results once I have them. Give me a week or so |

What would be more interesting (to me) is to see the times of 2 1M's running these tests against each other with and without a downshift. Perhaps we should meet on route 16 (between Savannah and Macon) some time? That's about 1/2 way between here and Jacksonville. I'm not serious, as usual on here, but it would be interesting to see if over boost increases the torque enough to make up for the fact the hp peak is in the higher revs. Actually, 16 is a cop haven so this might be a very bad idea but I'd like to see time comparisons.
