Question Ask a dealer

This is where members can come and get answers directly from those who work at BMW centers. I know besides myself, there are several other here who are CA's, parts reps, SA's, techs, etc. I figured maybe we could just use this thread to kind of help compile questions & answers for people. By no means do I have/ know all the answers, but I'll answer as best as I can

So whoever has a question, go ahead & ask. Whoever knows the answer, chime in and answer it

Dave:biggrin:

* Please don't ask if I think you are getting a "good deal" on a certain price. A good deal is one that you are happy with.

  • Typically if you give yourself a 10 week lead, you'll be safe to get the days you want. From what I've seen, demand on euro is as high this year as it was last year
  • It shouldn't, but it is typically tougher bargain ed pricing lower. I once sold a $500 over ed invoice on a 325i, so...

Sweet, if I could even get 750-1000 over ED invoice I'd be all over it.

I previously posted this question, but the dealer screwed up my order because he didnt know the paddle shifters were extra. Now he wants another $100. Whats the correct course of action? Can the dealer eat this cost without a problem? I am planning on sticking to my guns and refusing to pay the $100.

I have a question... How much of a kick back does the dealer really get from the banks for financing a car? My CA said a few hundred $, but I've heard it can be a lot more. The reason I'm asking is because if the dealer can match the 4.25% I'm getting through PenFed I'm thinking about offering to use their financing instead of my own in exchange for a few freebies. (floor mats, an aluminum pedal kit, etc...) But I want to know how much stuff I might be able to get out of them before it becomes a bad deal.

Question:

I made a thread similar to my question before I saw your thread. So I'll just repost my question: I've been stuck at production code 111 for about 2 weeks now, which seems terribly long to just get a production date. My SA says not to worry and that I will get a production date soon. How long does it normally take to get from 111(placed order) to 112(confirmed production date)? Should I be worrying?

Thanks!

If I sold you a car for a certain price & it was we agreed on, if I made the mistake (especially just $100) I would eat it. Not worth the bad pub & headache. It's not an issue for him to ask, but he shouldnt push you for the $100

what the dealer or finance guy gets isn't relevant to what freebies you can get. The freebies come out of the gross profit of the car, from the ca's end.

depends on the build week of your car.. I would ask your CA what "week" your car is. Off hand, I'm guessing you have a late may or early June production date. That will give you a better idea of when it will go into production. If it's still a while out, maybe he could trade for an earlier week?

I was wondering if you could check and see if Schaeffer BMW of Wilmington, NC has any allocations available. They said they placed my order but I have yet to receive a production number. They said i'd probably have my car around mid to late June. The CA was supposed to fax me some paperwork today but he didnt. Also i gave them my credit card number over the phone for my $1,000 deposit but it has yet to be taken off the card. I emaild my CA and he said that they dont always take the $1,000 deposit. He said the card number is more for "commitment." Anyhow..... also, if any CA's could check their systems and see if my car is on order, it'd be appreciated also.

Maybe I could get the finance guy to buy me some floor mats then.
