I think it was for the early E90's, but I'm not 100% on that...

I thought we got the same recalls as the E90s.

Also not 100% sure.

The recall is for the three series... but the 1er's use the same or almost same parts. So I would order the recall kit and use those improved parts. I think BMW have upgraded the wires to the blower motor so they don't melt. Then try and get BMW NA to pay for it, after the fact.

The blower motor system connectors recall affects 672,775 vehicles of these models and years: 323i, 325i, 325xi, 328i, 328xi, 330i, 330xi, 335i, 335xi and M3 from 2006 through 2011; 335is from 2007 through 2011; and the 335d from 2009 through 2011.

Quote:
The reason for the recall is the blower-regulator wiring harness, which controls the fan speed of the blower motor, the part responsible for sending air through the vents. Variations in resistance across a specific connection could lead to an increase in temperature, which can cause a short circuit. It could also melt the plastic surrounding the regulator, increasing the chance of a fire.

Drivers might notice something is amiss when the climate control system stops working. Occupants might also smell a burning plastic odor.

Our cars probably use the same wiring. So only time before the recall hits our cars too.
