They are truly directional and are labled for left and right sides of the car. As far as being lighter i'm not sure as I didn't measure that when i swapped them out. FWIW, i'd get these again over the bmwp ones as they're cheaper and same quality metal.

Are the ultimax or ebc's lighter than stock too?

BMW claims that their drileld and slotted Performance rotors are 0.5 Kg lighter than OE ones. I wanna say they weighed in at 9.4 Kg, each. I remembered weighing them but I forgot how heavy they were.

Just ordered mine from Autoanything.com a moment ago. Someone please take some pictures of these, I can't find a specifc picture for the part numbers. I am assuming there vented but as far as the generic picture on EBC's site goes they do not appear to be?
PS: hmm 6 months in Afghan= A huge pile of parts

They are vented. The coating wears off the contact surfaces after a few stops. By the end of a 30 minute drive you won't see anything.

I run the Cool Carbons for the street. I had Hawks on my old car, while hot they were great, they're cold performance when you first started driving the car left some to be desired. That becomes very prevalent when in the winter time in a colder climate than Spain

I've run both rotors on the rear and the only difference I notice was noise. The 3GD's slots are much wider than the USR's slots. As a result, I could hear the 3GDs when the slots passed through the pads. The sound was there regardless of whether I was on brakes or off the brakes. This was a bit annoying. The slots on the USRs are thinner (closer in width to the slots found on the BMW performance rotors). The USRs make zero noise.

I bought those rotors for my civc a while ago, and wore them out in around 15k miles or less! They warped so bad to the point that the steering wheel was shaking so bad I thought is was going to brake something in the suspension. Don't know if it was exactly the same, but the black coated ones. That car ate brakes quarterly and I drive like an old man.
