Ouch, how can this be coming out of an forum members mouth that the 1er is not a special car? let alone a moderator.

Haha... You know what he means. It's like seeing a Ferrari 288 GTO next to an F430. F430 who?

The 1-Series coupe is a hot-rodded Euro-stationwagon, as it turns out, the redesign works nicely. While I dig my car, it's abundant performance, both in application and persona, that's all fine, however, it ain't the M1, was never intended to be. BMW will never reapply the moniker, how would they excuse that ultimate absurdity?

This car would cost around $75,000+. The result however would be an astonishing M3 killer.. (I laughed on the inside)
It would only be a M3 killer if you could put the power down. The problem is the tire size is limited on the 135i. I'm really not sure what the M3 has but the front tires are most likely as wide as our rears.

I would buy a 135i M if they only added limited slip and Dinan software hp levels. Maybe they could throw in fender flares to allow wider tires?!

They should have put a real LSD in the 135i, dialed out the understeer and called it the M135i in the first place...

The M3 rides on 245/265 18" standard. That is a tire size than could be finagled on the 1 series even without extensive modification. But of course, if BMW made an M version I'm sure they would bother flaring the fenders a little more...

Then BMW would be faced with the unsurmountable difficulty of selling the M3 in any profit producing numbers. (It's not like it sells like hot cakes even now, let alone with a smaller lighter brother stealing its performance hat).
