That's the other reason that I don't want the N54. How the hell can I resist tuning it? I mean, it's gonna be sooooo easy!

But I know a tuned BMW will be a money pit in the long run. I really shouldn't. :frown:

i totally agree....i hate tuning cars but its gonna be a constant itch. I mean this little bimmer would be the ULTIMATE SLEEPER. Passing just about anything wont be a problem.(unless they ram into u ofcourse. ) Imagine it, a small bimmer thats putting out around 400hp. Oh boy.

EXACTLY. I know if I get a 135i, chances are I will eventually end up with a 400HP reliability nightmare with void warranty.

[quote=onehots2k;240 ... i drove an 03 Mini....and found it to be soooooo much fun and rewarding)...

If this car comes and is sucessful, it could be the death of sporty FWD coupes as we know it...haha[/quote]
dude, you're raving about the mini and predicting the demise of fwd sporty coupes in the same breath:iono: . while i think most of us agree that rwd is preferable(all else being equal) one thing i will say for fwd models is that at least they tend to be significantly lighter due to the efficient drivetrain layout, my daily driver cobalt ss(non-supercharged) only weighs about 2900lbs- i think sentra ser and civic si are in that ballpark. i remember reading a comment maybe 10 yrs ago or so that a guy made describing that he had just traded some hot mustang at least a gt or maybe even a cobra or roush for a civic si and how much more he enjoyed the lighter more nimble civic. i'm not advocating fwd at all but several comments have been made, here and at bimmerfest, lamenting that even the 1er is too heavy, more of a marginally reduced 3er rather than a 2002 throwback. i'm just wondering if the argument couldn't be made that some 2700lb. fwd sport coupe might not be more satisfying in some ways than a 3200lb. 1er.

This is a question I'll answer for myself before I buy! If I could know the answer w/o driving the 135... Nope, I can't think of any other way. My E36 M3 lost in my personal comparo with the MINI. I'm hoping the 135 will win, but it's not a foredrawn conclusion is it?

PS. If you guys get tired of my near constant praise for the MINI, let me know. I could try to tone it down.

Good point..
RWD + small + power = true fun car.
128i might be stepping on Miata/RX8 shoes...
135i would be in a class of its own...

THANK GOD! IT'S ABOUT TIME! YOU AND YOUR CONSTANT MINI WORSHIPPING!

j/k I understand how much you love your little MINI, I know I would too if I had one. Besides, this is a BMW forum. Why would anyone have problem with the MINI?

Ya, and Bugatti is Italian...

Praise for the Mini is completely legitimate, on this site or anywhere else... Putting aside that it's more fun than a barrel of monkeys, it's a BMW product that will more-or-less compete with the 1er in the luxury sport compact segment. Sure less power, less $$$, FWD, blah, blah, blah... But some enthusiats will find legitimate reasons choose it over the 1er.

That said, the 1er would have to be a dud to dampen my enthusiasm... and I have trouble imagining that!

:eyebulge: :respekt: Very impressive...

I've heard that experiences like that can result in a post-tramatic stress condition that inhibits the use of capital letters...

Sorry Hector, couldn't resist.........

I said it a million times.

Baboons are mindless marauding killing machines!

I'm glad you are safely back Hector. This is why we need to build a wall between the US and Africa.
