Price Point if the M1 / 1M / SS materializes??

So if this mythical creature ever makes it into production, what is the speculated price point?

You addicts were incredibly accurate back in 2007 when you began speculating the prices for the 128 / 135. So start the ball rolling...what say ye on the speculated price point of this M creation of the 1er?

~$45k ish???

As they want it to stay competitive with the Audi S3 i think a markup of max. 5k to the 135.

im gonna guess 43,500. But most will get premium/tech packages which will cause you to head north of 50,000.

The difference between the 335i and M3 is roughly $15600. That would put an "M1" in the neighborhood of $50,000 base.

Knowing BMW, the "M1" or whatever it'll be called, will be a groundbreaking model, that will raise the bar. Pretty sure they're not going to let those go for anywhere near $45K, unfortunately.

Well, nobody knows what the M version of the 1er will be called so people have been using "M1," not referring to the actual, "non-quoted" M1.

Yup, if it's a full blown M, it'll cost somewhere between the 335 and the M3. They'll give it a wide body and true M suspension to make it practically impossible to be made by just "bolting on" parts to a 135.

That's why I see a "tii" type model being more likely. Just a lightweight, performance part type version. Basically a better platform to mod.

Hopefully they ditch the rear seats and substitute a roll cage and some carpeting. 135i by way of GT2

I think it depends on what the M version ends up being, as some others have said. If it's a full blown M car I could definitely see it starting at 50k, if not 55k. If it is just some of the M3 parts thrown on a 135i with a carbon fiber roof then my guess would be just over 45k.

Sidenote - I really hope it's not going to be a 4 cylinder turbo. If they're going to use a 4 banger, I hope they at least build an NA monster (not gonna happen) with uber high compression, strong ass internals and individual throttle bodies. Revs to 10K. One can dream.

Mid to upper 40's. Compare the prices of the 135i coupe to M3 coupe. Not 1 coupe to M sedan.

48-50k base model. 52-55k comfortably optioned and 60 if you want everything, which will no doubt create threads on 370z, evo or sti site like 35k japanese car vs. 60k. It's going to be slotted where E46M3 was.

$48K base price. Well north of $50K when you start adding options. I doubt anbybody will want one at less than $55K.

The 1er is already as fast as the E46 M3 on most any track though. It just takes a driver with some training to get it there.

$46-48k base sounds about right to me, and well over $50k once it's optioned up.

At least 10K above the base price on 135, roughly 48K.

If the economy picks up and the supply is low, we will see the dealers price them at $60K for those that have to have the first 1.

If the economy does not pick, we wont see the car here in the US.

Don't hold your breath. IF one is ever produced it will be after the next gen M3 is out and priced well north of the uber-1.
