Like it or not its seems to be the future of BMW.

whatever they do it will be the best 1 series ever, even better than future ones as they will probably just get heavier and heavier... and the best and coolest BMW will always be the E30 M3

BMW's Performance Power Kit = zero throttle lag. I have no idea what you guys are talking about My 135i is as responsive on the throttle as my Mitsu Evo 8 was, with one difference... 135i w/power kit has no turbo lag either.

oh adding to my list... another dark grey color (someone posted this already). I would have a hard time parting with my SGM for another color at this point. Also, a solid center console if they're going to put one in. The current flip up central armrest is a POS.

hmm....

-same suspension as M3 but with the ability to put my AST's on it
-LSD
-CF roof option
-M-DCT
-19" wheels

Lower seating position!!! My E46 seems to have a much lower seating position than my E92 has. Everytime I drive the 335 I feel like I'm sitting on the roof

If bmw won't make a manual tranny for this car...

they will lose sales.

for those of you that don't service a car themselves (once the bmw free service years are over)..

you will be doomed at how much it will cost to maintain a dct transmission system. Again this is for people who don't service the cars themselves after the free service limit.

Okay let me say this one little thing, most of you guys/gals are listing kick ass stuff which I have no problem with. But the BMW M1 is going to be "cheap" so sorry to break it to you most of your list would never make it. Oh ya I know its a WISH LIST, I just have a thing for pointing out the imposable sorry.

Any way heres mine:
-Big drilled brakes
-No power dome hood (like on the M3)
-BMW performance steering wheel and seats
-4 wheel drive (haha not likely)

So you criticise people for wanting this car to be awesome by saying that the car will be cheap...

and you in turn respond by a) wishing for big brakes b) the $1000 steering wheel and the $4000 seats to be standard equipment and an M car with AWD?

Go Away

AWD LOLZ.... I will not be surprised if the M1 is priced close to M3 money... somewhere around 55k which is where the M3 starts at(sedan). And it can't possibly be cheap because, to a lot of people, the 1 is already pretty expensive for being the baby BMW, specially when compared to the more luxurious 3 series. I actually hope and pray that it starts at 50k, with a larger power dome than the M3's on its hood... and in order for it to be "cheap" it would NOT come with big drilled brakes or performance anything. and specially no 4WD... that would be a waste of money as none of those things would improve performance as much as a free diet/weight reduction would.

Subscribing to this thread because if this car is any good I may make it a weekend and track car

Post up concept pictures if you have them.

I probably would not buy unless it had close to 400 hp and the weight was significantly reduced making it handle even better than the M3

Well deffinitely a true LSD first and foremost
-LSD 3:73
-tighter suspension to eliminate body roll
-more sleek and aggresive facia...get rid of the ugly lexan domes
-DSG
-lighter weight
-bigger fenderwells to accomodate bigger rubber
-windshield that doesnt chip as easily (should be done for all 1s)
-M3 style CF hood
-matte finish options
-ditch the RFTs
-350 Tq/WHP
-Better centre console bin design (All 1s)
-slightly lower greenhouse (just a little tho)
-less sensitive seatbelt gong, so it doesnt go off when theres a jug of milk on the seat (all 1s )
-make it even more amazing to drive
-reasonable price

I would like to see a normally aspirated high revving engine but doubt we will see this due to stricter emissions etc...
I would also like to see a lightweight M car but again, M cars just get heavier each generation.

1. Manual and DCT both available.
2. M rear final drive unit.
3. Wider fenders to accomodate a bigger footprint.
4. Larger fuel tank.
5. Performance Package Option - would like a CSL version. Carbon Fiber Roof, light weight race seats, deletion of all the non-essential gizmos and gadgets. Addition of aero pieces, functional front splitter and rear spoiler...aka a reincarnated E30 M3.
6. Sunroof delete option as part of performance package
7. Has to be naturally aspirated for reliability
