Great news, thanks for posting that up. Can you elaborate on the fender rolling? Was it required for both front and rear?

For et 38, it was. If you use et 40 or 44, more of a chance you won't have to. Or use 245 tires on all four corners.

Having worked with BBS for a while, I made a note of the possible fitments for 18s and 17s and after what we've done and what I've seen people like Larry do (17x9 et 44 with 255s and no rolling), I think the best BBS choices for people are:

CHs in 17x8.5 et38 (22 lbs.) with 245s

Note: I didn't evaluate CHs in 18" - too heavy for us to consider for racing

RG-R in 17x9 et42 (17 lbs.) with 245s or maybe 255s

RG-R in 17x8 et 40 (17 lbs.) with 245s

RG-R in 18x8.5 et38 (18.6 lbs.) with 245s

RG-R in 18x9 et 45 (19.5 lbs.) with 245s or maybe 255s

RE in 18x8 et 47 (20 lbs.) with 245s

RE in 18x9 et 45 (21 lbs.) with 245s or maybe 255s

Scott, I've test fitted (without tires) the RG-R 17x8 et40 on the front of my 135i and it fits OK. Strangely, the 17x9 in the rear only have ~1mm clearance between the high points on the brake caliper and the inside of the wheel, which I'm thinking is insufficient after the brakes heat up. What do you think?

Yeah, you want enough to feel comfortable, but that's what spacers are for - to custom tailer the fit.

I tried to test fit the 17x8 et 40 RGRs on the rear of my 135i and had the same result as Mikeo. The outer edge of the caliper is only about 1 mm from the inside rim of the RGR.

I'm curious if anyone has tried the 18x8.5 et 38 or 18x9 et 45 RGRs. Either the 8.5s all around or 8.5 in the front and 9 in the rear. The caliper clearance should be no problem. Are these offsets good for the 135?

well there definatly not good offsets. I dont know about brake clearence but if you ran enough camber and rolled the fenders and didnt go for an aggresive drop they *might work.
Im hoping bbs while make wheels specific to our car. but seeing as the 1ers been in europe for a while now w/o specific bbs's it dosnt look great to me.

Well, I think a lot depends on how wide the tires are you want to fit on it and whether you're looking for a true square setup or you could be happy with something close.

We are a uniquely tough fit because of our stock class rules (we are only allowed up to 8.5" up front) and that we want a true square setup (makes it much easier on race logistics). And our tire sponsor does not have a 255/40x18 - only in 17".
