oldman, Can you confirm whether what you bought is just the rear silencer, or does it include "piping" as well.
If it includes "piping", what get's added / deleted when compared to the standart setup? Finally, what do you think it weighs? Hopefully your shipping documents show this. Cheers. |

"hey oldman how did you manage to pick it up for au$1250 delivered... did you still buy 4 x performance exhausts?"
So how does the exhaust sound? Any noticable gain in power? Was that delivered to your door, and any other fees that you had to pay? Email for Dan? thanks |

One more question. To refit the OEM exhaust, do you weld it back? Or do you need more clamps as the clamps that come with the performance exhaust you would leave them with the performance exhaust?

US$800 with current exchange rate is still under the value allowed for the goods of A$1000, so no duty etc to pay. Fedex economy to Australia was US$275 giving a total price of US$1075. With the current exchange rate, that gets you the exhaust for under A$1300 (Total cost delivered, no extra charges involved). Fedex economy was great. Shipped on a Tuesday (my time) delivered following Monday. Be aware though, that this is Dan's special on PE's so dont know how long he going to be selling them at US$800. Quote:
The most difficult job is removing the hanger points. I used some silicon spay which help slide them off. You would need additional clamps to be able to put the original exhaust back on the car and retain the PE clamps or you could weld it, but clamps are readilly available locally from people like... http://www.bestmufflers.com/bshop/in...4b5ddf95daeceb Been for a drive and the tone is beautiful even without the mid pipe. It's not loud at all and probably should have been the way the car was shipped. I've heard they get a bit louder after they carbon up a bit. Not interested in any HP gains if any as I got the exhault for sound value only. One surpising thing was the issue discussed many times on this site in regard to the tips sticking out too far. Well, I can tell you, they are exactly the same. The distance between the flange point and the end of the longest tip is identical on both exhausts (1250mm). It is therefore an optical illusion that they stick out further because the PE tips are not cut at an angle. I measured the distance between the standard exhaust tip end and the diffuser and the PE as well, and it's the same. Have tried to illustrate this in these photos. |

Wow that's a great deal I didnt' see that coming. Gah if there were no issues warranty it would be very close to the top of my list. How does it sound? Is it very intrusive?

1) It's got a spot welded plate on it denoting it's a PE. 2) There is no flap in the exhaust, so the Golf Tee mod is required. 3) Using it on the standard mid's gives a totally different sound to standard exhaust. |
