Cheaper just to by a drop in filter and be done with it.

Why does it have to be carbon fiber? You're not saving that much weight on that size item and look at what it does to the (already) inflated cost.

I was just looking for some ideas to change up the motor bay, ill most likely just put a drop in filter in the stock box

I also like that they note the photo does not even represent what it actually looks like. So, they want you to drop $2500 and yet don't even have a photo of it online?

Carbon fiber can be much thinner than the factory plastic, so volume can be larger in the same size hole in your engine bay?

Yeah, I wouldn't pay $2500 for it, but whatever. If I won the powerball I'd have a CF intake on my Zonda.

Every 12 square inches of carbon fiber you have on your car will give you 5 more horsepower. If you don't believe me go to the Honda forums.

Stratus650 told me he ordered his CF intake from a company in Australia for ~$1500. (search for my photos of his car in Switzerland). The company in Japan builds these CF CIA to order - so they custom make you the airbox and send you picture updates thru out the build. I think he said it took almost two months for the airbox to be completed.

IF you Google Mr.5 cold air box for the N54 it also gets you HP gain. Much like the Alpina CAI, which they will not sell unless you already have an Alpina.
