N54 injectors

Hi guys,

So it turns out I have a injector issue with Bank 1 where it is leaking and not shutting.

I am after a set of injectors to replace them. I would like to replace both banks while I am at it. Now I know RockAuto is the cheapest however it seems due to the revision of Index 13 they are not stocking the injectors at the moment.

Does anyone know who would be the next cheapest? I have checked ECS and my mates X5M is also suffering failing injectors which need replacing... This is not a cheap exercise.

Any help will be appreciated. I see someone is selling index 9's on here however I would prefer index 11+.

Thanks

That's unfortunate to hear - can't believe they are doing a 13th revision of these bloody injectors!

I purchased my revision 12 from rockauto last year however i believe totti84 has a set available locally.

Otherwise try Justin JD75

have you tried injector cleaner (techron is what i used can get it from any caltex). my car used to shake really badly on cold start and used to feel like it was misfiring if you shut it off for abit then turned it back on - this would slowly go away as you drive.

I also had differences in long term fuel trims between the two banks (up to 15% i.e one was -5% other was +10%).

I had no codes but something wasn't right. ended up running 2 tanks of fuel with injector cleaner and fuel trims on both banks now follow each other almost exactly. car also runs alot better with noticeable difference in throttle response from about 40km into the first tank with the cleaner.

hopefully this helps cause those injectors are damn expensive!!

My car is running 100% E85, I ran a E85 cleaner in vain already. We have done all the diagnostics already, its defiantly leaking injectors.

that sucks

have you tried schmiedmann? they are usually pretty cheap (you can save a few dollars by flicking through all the currencies and picking the one that gives you the best conversion - saved me about $10-15 on a $300 order)

otherwise jd75 as already suggested

whoah, they jumped in price a tad. $161USD 2.5 years ago. Even the decoupling element has jumped $3 a pop.

Are you sure bosch produce the N54 injectors?

AFAIK they're a Piezo design and the N55 are made by bosch (cheaper design solenoid injector)

Another vote for FCP Euro. I haven't bought injectors from them but have bought many other parts and they've been excellent.
