255/40 17 Side wall Flex question
Hey guys, I am asking for people's experience here. Having the hardest time deciding on a perfect track wheel, no autox. At the moment I wanted to run 255 35 18 RS3 on my car but I also want to run a 255 40 17 RS3 because the opportunity to have 17" wheels has come up. Anyone experience bad sidewall flex and loss in turn in performance with a taller sidewall? Any feedback is appreciated.

Honestly, if you want responsive turn in, don't get RS3s. The RS3s feel like mush whatever size you go with. But they are quick. A stiffer sidewall, like Z2* or RE71R, I'd look into those in a 255 size. It'll be much more responsive Just my experiences |

I run a 17x8.5 255 RS3 setup, track and autoX, it's fine, provided you have sufficient roll stiffness and camber in the front end. RS3 ride their shoulders to death otherwise.
