Angel Eye Alpinev3 replacement HID bulb

Anyone know where I can buy a replacement bulb for the Alex Alpine angel eye HID hit? I don't want to do any cutting, soldering....etc. Going to the AlpineMSS website has been proven unreliable....

I'm going through the same thing, I actually filled a complaint with the better business bureau. Another member on here told me he got bulbs from ddmtuning.com for $15 and spliced in the connectors. I'm ordering them today so I can let you know how that turns out.

has anyone switched to H11 to see if it throws a code or not? Sorry to bump in on the thread but i'm new on here and am all done with engine mods and am looking into changing the lighting but doing it the right way. Theres a company called "Oracle" that makes lights and i have em' on my gsxr1000 but they don't make h8. they are 'plasma LED' which produce wayyyyy more light than your typical 26 bulb kit (or whatever they are).

here's a link....

i will then. i've put them in a few camaros and they light those rings up as bright as any audi and it looks great. i know the BMW's have the outer ring to worry about but if it looks good i'll make a thread about em. Think it will throw a code??

I guess they will throw a code if voltage will be less than 35 watts but its possible to code out.

Although it says that bulbs are 41watt in that case should be fine without codes.

My order from DDMtuning has shipped and hopefully will be here in a week so I will be able to update you on whether or not it was successful.

I ordered H8 HID replacements. All I have to do is splice in the connector wires to connect them to the alpine ballasts.

I have not tried these "Oracle" LEDs, but I am running incandescent H11 bulbs. To make H11 bulbs fit into the H8 socket, you will need to grind one of the tabs to make it more narrow. Once you receive your bulbs, you'll see what I mean.
I usually make this mod with a Dremel. It takes only a few seconds per side. It's easiest if you remove the rubber seal at the bottom of the bulb first so that you don't accidentally break it.

Got my lights in from DDMtuning, the wiring looks almost exactly like the Alpine setup. One conntector has to be cut, I'll put pics up tomorrow of the wires that need to be cut and the lights installed. They are nice and white just like I was looking for and they are bright as hell!

Its really simple.

Pic 1 is the alpine light
Pic 2 is the DDMtuning light

all you need to do it cut off the connector in pic 2 and splice in the wires/block you cut off from the alpine light. The other side is the exact same without the block, its just one red and one black wire with either a male or female connector. I'll try and get some pics of the lights tonight and during the day tomorrow so you can see how they look.
