e88 w/ST coils: what diff & subframe bushings?

Trying to get this bushing thing right the first time around:

Car has 70k miles
new ST coilovers
new oem strut mounts

All other suspension is stock, RSFB and diff bushings need replacement. Since the car is a convertible (more flex) and I'm on ST coils, would m3 bushings all around be the best-matched option over something like poly or urethane?

Should I go with the same type of bushing for the diff and subframe?

With the stock bushings nearing the end of their life, are inserts even an option?

Don't want a rattle trap, but also need to tighten things up. Car sees zero track time, just road trips, 1/4 mile, general flogging. Any convertible owners with coilovers care to chime in?

+1

I'm running Delrin/Aluminum subframe bushings on my vert, not much noticeable increase in NVH.

Still on stock diff bushings.

Thanks for chiming in, guys. Local BMW mechanic says I will hate life driving around with anything other than inserts or m3 subframe bushings and street-compound diff bushings.

dbronik, I see you have plenty of suspension mods along with a monster strut brace (drool). With how stock my suspension is vs. yours, would your recommendation still stand?

Such a subjective mod and the chassis creaks over bumps enough as is. I gotta find a local with upgraded bushings and take a ride.

say him to try newest m3/4/5, where rear subframe mounts solid, without any rubber.

I _do_ love my strut bar

My suspension mods were similar to your setup now when I got the solid RSFB in (all I had was the ground control street/school e82 kit), but I'd only recommend the solid bushings if you plan to upgrade more of your suspension in the future (let's be honest, of course you will )

You know what's going to happen if you don't go solid bushings? Every squish & softness you feel you're going to blame it on the bushings. And you'll regret you didn't install the solid ones.

At least that's the way I would think . . .

bumping this from the dead with a new question -

does anyone know of a strut brace that will fit the e82/e88 without removing the stock black v-brace bars? I'm looking at megan, AA and a few others but would like to maintain the stock black v-brace bars if possible (and not spend $200+)

currently i'm on bilstein b6/swift r springs and am very happy witht he ride but the vert will definitely benefit from a real strut brace...
