Stock Xenon Headlight Question 135i

In the headlight, the lights that are closest to the grill... are they supposed to light up inside the ring? I thought I saw one working and the other was not. Now neither are working. Im at the dealer. Service was unsure, they looked in my manual and took a flashlight to look inside the lense to see if it has a bulb.

They are adaptive lights I believe, mine turn with the steering and usually the inside one in a corner lights up I think.

They light up as you turn. If you turn the wheel to the left, the left light should turn on. Turn right, the right one turns on.

The lights you're referring to only light up when you're headlights are on. Both will light up when you are in reverse. They will also light up when you turn your wheel, the direction you turn will light up the bulb in the direction you turn.

Go park in front of a window and turn your lights on. Then put the car in reverse and start to back out a bit. Then put it in drive and turn the wheel in one direction and then the other direction. You should see how the lights turn on and off.

Also, I don't know if this has anything to do with it or not, but my headlights are on auto.

Having it on auto make all the difference.

Thanks to everyone for the quick answers. I am very surprised the master mechanic didn't know that.
