BMW Welt | Munich | 19.05.2008 | E82 135 AW/Lemon | 53 PICS

very quick post of the car and pics, i am back in Paris today, stayed the night in Munich at the King's hotel (great place with great price and great continental breakfast I think i ate my head off before i left!). petra delivered my car at the welt, what an experience....enough said, here are the pics and oh, gas is so INSANELY expensive in germany, about 1.69 EUROS for 100 octane v-power gas, which translates into over $9.50/gallon. BMW puts in about 1/3 of a tank of gas at delivery.....staying in paris another week with the 135! sorry pics arent that great, like a dumbass i left the camera in paris and so when i got to munich i had no camera, had to use my blackberry phone to take pics

> My name off the A3 board, ready for final delivery. Go SAVAGE BMW!

> Petra spins the car as we are coming down the stairs, this is my first look at the car!

> Here it is , right in front of me, i can touch it and feel it!!!!!

> 00000 miles!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

> We found a spot as we were pulling up to the King's hotel.

> Parked near Maximillianstrasse in Munich, the 5th avenue of the city, stopped by Louis Vuitton chasing down a purse for my sister that seems to be sold out worldwide...

> Filling up at Shell with expensive ass gas!

> underground parking at the hotel, they only had 7 available spots!

> My first time using an elevator for the car! park it inside, hit the -1 button and it takes you underground, very trippy!

ill try my blackberry to take the lemon pics tomorrow. ok so i hold the ED AW/Lemon title then, not the 1addict AW/Lemon title ha ha ha thats ok, any title at this point is worth holding. the welt sent me home with a free welt keychain, a picture a la disney style and 10 euros that went towards another bmw f1-sauber key chain!

Congrats!!! Fantastic pics. ED is the way to go. The car feels like it belongs there doesn't it. We never had a car in Paris, but used my Cousin's BMW and Uncle's Opel Manta GTE in Germany. ENJOY!

Fantastic blog of the delivery so far, and thanks so much for taking the time to bring us all along for the ride! Have fun in France, and enjoy the car. It's gorgeous, but I'm a bit impartial towards AW.

Love the look of that car - plus ED is great (in this meaning of the acronym...lol)!

Anyone know how I could get a german license plate like that for the front of my non-ED car? Or, would that be against 1addict etiquette?

Maybe some day

What I love about ED at the Welt is the gallery on the far side. Look at the photo below, see the people standing on the far side? It's set up as this wide chasm separating the unwashed masses from new BMW owners. It's subtle, but it says, "Maybe some day you too will be fortunate enough to be on that side of this great divide, being watched and envied by mere mortals." Classic marketing and excellently done!

(Note, I did ED with a friend for his 2008 335xci back in April. It rocked!)

Thank you for the heads up about the gas prices. I've been planning on a huge budget for the gas, as by the time the 1er is dropped off in Amsterdam, we will have logged about 1300 miles!

I seriously cant wait for some socal roads to burn some rubber on! although you gotta take your hats off to the germans, the freeways were toll-free and i could seriously eat my lunch off the ground, my windshields werent even dirty from driving on the freeway. the french freeways on the other hand its another story. bugs and road kills all over my windshield and front of the car, AND those damn french make you pay tolls up the ass! (31,30 euros from the border to paris), for a freeway thats not nearly as cool as the german's...oh well. AW FTW and anyone remotely interested to do ED on their car, its a NO BRAINER YOU HAVE TO DO IT! anyone already planning on going, get that credit card ready (i used my capitalone they dont charge a foreign transaction fee oh boy that adds up and that's awesome!) - gotta drop my buddy off at the CDG airport in paris, will take pics of the inside and post later today. tchuss everyone.

Very nice pics, even with a phone. Great to see pics of your journey though, not just pics from when you just pick it up and thats it. And every time I see lemon interior, yes it is nice, but it looks like it can almost be edible to me, makes me hungry in other words. Guess that just makes me weird hehe.

9.50 american / gallon, thats it?

all seriousness, very hot ride, excellent options, thanks for the close ups of the GPS, i cant believe that it looks so "cheap" the way its cut into the dash, wish it was integrated like the M3 GPS is, or 335 for that matter.. ah well still getting it.

love the car though, enjoy it.
