Your car sounds amazing in the superstreet and tunnel vids on the previous page! I tried to find your exhaust setup with the S65 but only found your old N54 setup, what is your exhaust setup with the V8 if you dont mind my asking?? I wonder did the stroker kit change the exhaust note too? If I get a E92M and have it sounding anything close to how your car sounds in those two vids Ill be happy lol.

the sound of the exhaust is largely from the shortened X pipe. Its a custom short x pipe and an akra rear. My e92 sounded nothing like my car. Stroker largely sounds the same. You may feel like it is quieter as it has more mid range and allows you to comfortably drive shifting at 3k around town, where my 4.0L demanded to rev 4+

Cool thanks for the reply! So basically a custom x-pipe to a akra rear muffler? Does the x-pipe have any cats or resonators? Im guessing the shorter x-pipe is due to the custom engine swap and the slightly short chassis of the 1er? I was actually planning on going with a custom straight x-pipe with two resonators if I got a E92M.

Shorter X pipe is due to the car being a 1series. The car sounds unique as it has a catless X pipe which is short and mates into a Y and connects to a 1m akra rear. An E9X will never sound like this car. I also have an e92 and even with a similar set up it sounds nothing like the 1series. The e9x sounds deeper and still more refined. Both good.

This car has really been a committed no-compromise build for all of the partners involved and we got it to a point where we collectively felt there was little left to add to it while preserving that focus. Carbon Rev wheels are the last big mod that really enhance everything about this car. They are purposeful, beautiful, and absolutely insane.

Many people tend to focus only on the weight benefit of carbon wheels but do not take into consideration the material strength. Carbon wheels are 40% lighter and 13x stronger than an aluminum wheel of the same construction. So while some aluminum wheels weigh the same as these at 18.3 lbs, they do so by shedding material and unavoidably strength.

Love eeeeeet!! So glad that this car is still around on this forum.

And the 2002s even more so - I stumbled across your ig today and saw that you got two 02s. Cannot wait to see what you're going to do with them.

P. S. The E82's rear end kind of reminds me of the 02. They really look like relatives next to each other on photos.

Thanks man. The Bmw 2002's have been a lot of fun. They really refreshed my interest in bmws. It was nice to take a break and just work on something simple. My 1er is so track focused I forgot how enjoyable everyday driving can be and how something as simple as going to the grocery store can be an occasion in the right car.

Some photos from the SuperStreet Magazine Show Car shoot out. Was a really fun event with some really cool and interesting cars in attendance. My car ran 1:23.3 with the new ExtremeContact Sport. We were impressed with the tires and they were a huge improvement over last years.
