Question Werid beeping noises

Hi everyone, sorry for the repost, but maybe this for section for my issues.
I'm reaching out to see if anyone has a similar noise issue. I have a 2010 6spd E82 and have been experiencing electronical whirling/beep sound in the driver's cabin. It's a faint beep and then goes away for 2-3 seconds and the beep comes back. I can hear it when idling or waiting for next song. Another description of the sound is when you make a call to someone and waiting for them to pick up the phone. Again, a faint sound and not overly loud.

The beep can also be heard when I'm driving at low speed. At high speed it's difficult to hear because of road noise. You can't hear the beep outside or anyone else in the car except the driver's side. If the car sits overnight and I drive in the morning, you can hear the beep after the car warms up. It doesn't do it for the 1st 5-10 mins. Any thoughts? I'm taking to a tech next week and would like to present some ideas.

Thanks!

I noticed this same thing. Never complained about it though.

Can you pinpoint exactly where the noise is coming from rather than a general area as stated?

I had issues with a "white noise" coming from my speakers very softly and it ended up being an amp issue. Not sure about beeping though... maybe from the internal computer?

The noise is coming from the dash board. It seems that if I turn on the heater you can hear the beep louder. Ive also not turn the heater on and you can hear it, just not as loud.

It almost sounds like a car alarm going off blocks away. I dont mind the sound too much when I have the radio or mp3 on, but when im on phone or want to hear the engine only, ots really annoying.

Actually discover something else that contribute to the noise. When idle, the beep comes and go. When you step the gas to 1rpm it becomes solid beep. When you let go of it, it beeps every 2 seconds. Maybe this is a fuel pump?

Mine makes all kinds of strange computer-esque beeping/whirring sounds at certain times (usually after start-up). It sounds a bit like a modem connecting, but without the static sound. It doesn't go on forever so I have just put it down to being some kind of BMW thing. Think I'll ask my dealer about it at the next service.

Sorry to bring back an old thread, but yeah! My 09 135i makes this noise too! It continues to beep for the entire journey. Not loud enough to be an annoyance to passengers, but to me I really have to be listening - and then it becomes apparent. Annoying, but I guess it hasn't caused any major problem... but is it a sign of impending problems??

I hear this too. Not present all the time but usually when idling at the light in neutral. Once I get moving, the road noise takes over and I cannot hear it.

My car is at BMW now for this exact issue...

The beeping I hear sounds as if an old school radio is searching for a station and its coming from the drivers side gauge cluster or behind it. I noticed mine usually comes on when there is lots of wind, if i change lanes, or if i accelerate briskly.

The shop forman thinks that it would be getting turbulance from the windshield weather stripping and they will be replacing it with a new one and sealing it better than factory. I really hope that is what it is because it is driving me NUTS! Most of the time I dont hear it but when It does come on itll stay for the whole trip and its pitch is heard over the radio...

I may even dump the car over it. IDK... My warranty is up in July and it will be sitting at BMW until then if this dosnt fix it.
