My wife's 128i vert is a 2013. I have not tried my windscreen in hers but I am pretty sure it would fit. She got hers included in the purchase, by the way. I was coaching her and suggested it.

I looked at a 2013 128i Convertible in my dealer showroom, and I don't see any discernible difference in the rear seat area, where the windscreen mounts. I got mine via eBay (slightly used) for about half-price. Really glad I did, as it works well.

series 1 wind screen

Is it worth it? Does it ensure less wind in the cabin?
Can anyone give me an idea of how the windscreen attaches ? Does it use the indentations I see in the side walls of the back seat ?
Also, when you remove it to allow back seating, does it fold and/or store easily ?

Thanks for your help.

It is spring loaded and uses the indentations on the side walls It takes 10 seconds to pop it in place, if that! It folds, comes with a cover and you can put it in the trunk. it might take a minute to fold and store.

If you look carefully, you can find "deals" on the 1-series convertible windscreen on eBay and Amazon. Got mine "slightly used" on eBay from someone in Germany for about $200. Came with the storage bag and had no wear at all on it. Works great.

Paid $210 shipped for mine, used, but barely, and best $210 piece of plastic (and mesh) I've ever bought.

I did the same. $200 shipped off ebay.

When I bought my car used from a large BMW dealership we looked thru 4 used convertibles and they were going to give me one if they had one in the truck of any of them. Unfortunately, they didn't.

They snap down on there own if you go much over 100 mph, and like others have said they work extremely well. My wife likes the windows up and windscreen up all the time. For me, I prefer that setup on 50 degree mornings with the heat and seat heaters on. It makes for great driving and I'm not cold at all.

I bought one for my mine off ebay as well. Actually ended up coming from a dealer for ~$320 shipped.

It's great and totally worth it. I usually flip it down at low speeds if it's hot and put it up if it's a little chilly or I'm going to be driving on the freeway.

I found this out at about 80mph on a particularly windy day. Scared the crap out of me. I thought it was a gunshot.

I can drive with the top down going 80 on the highway with the wind screen and people can hear me perfectly when using my cell through bluetooth. That alone is worth the price of admission!

I am 6'1" and spent the first few years without one and even with the windows up the wind would blow fairly hard around my head (nice except when driving to work and showing up looking I was in a tornado). So I went the eBay route and got a new one from a dealer for around $370 and have to say it works very well - no issues driving to work with the top down, windows and windblocker up. One thing though is I did not really notice when buying it but the one I got had a design on the back - looks basically like white painted lines. Not a deal breaker but just mentioning it in case that is for someone.

What happens when you have passengers in the back. Will the turbulence be as bad? I assume you can't use the windscreen with rear passengers, right?

Correct, you cannot use the windscreen with passengers in the back seat.
I've never been back there in my car but I would imagine the turbulence would be pretty bad back there!
Best solution: Put tall people back there so they block the wind for you up front ;-)

One of the other things I love about the wind screen. you can put stuff on the rear seat, and not have it blow away.
