Spacers help?

hey guys, im thinking about putting spacers on my car, stock height, stock rims...i want my tires to be spaced out much as possible, i dont want any rubbing or anything so can someone help me with what mm to get to make my tires to be spaced out as much as possible? thanks!

With stock wheels and tires at stock ride height, I don't think you'll have any issues with rubbing no matter how far out you go. Break out a tape measure and check.

I wouldn't go that far. Up front you can fit 15mm without rubbing. On the rear I ran 10mm and had not problems. Bought wheels with offset similar to 12mm spacer and it rubber. Slight fender rolling got rid of it thought.

No way 10mm is the biggest size spacer you can run with stock wheels/tires/spacers - I'm sure I've seen threads of guys running 18mm...?

215mm on 7.5" et 48? i think it's et48 or et49 for stock. Most setups that push the fender side seem to be running camber plates even with stock everything else. But I'll go with the "safe", that 255 with plates is 235 without.

255 with an effective offset of 37mm, versus a 215 at a 48 offset, all "theory", you *could* do 21mm of spacer. The easy way... find someone with 15, 18, 20 spacers, try them on, see vertically how close you are to your lip. all of this changes with a wider than 215 tire, and it assuming the stock bridgestones runa perfect 215, like the star specs run a pretty accurate 255.

this was just a look at the fronts though.

I would go 15 in the front and 12 in the rear for an aggressive setup, read the threads and you should find pictures of guys who have done this. My setup has 12 in front and 10 in back on BMWPS with no problem.

FYI - I tried 15mm front, 10mm rear on BMW PS with Dunlop Direzza Z1 SS 225f / 255r and they both rubbed; rears on any bumps, fronts only on hard(ish) bumps. I was told this setup would work without a problem.

It may have been from the extra width of the Z1s (they run a bit wide and are very square-shouldered) and/or the slight drop from the BMW PS, but it wasn't usable without some work. Looked great though.

Just some food for thought, your tire brand/size might dictate maximum spacer width.

12mm up front, 10mm rear. I looked at many of the posts here and it seemed like the best set up for me. My car is slightly lowered on BMWPS with stock 261M wheels and the stock RFT's.

I am running BMS 12mm Front and 15mm rears with the stock size Bridgestone RFT's on stock 264 wheels. They do not rub and look great; already have a lot of complements on how muscular the car looks. The reason for going 12mm or higher instead of 10mm is that some cars the hub is 12mm tall and will crack the spacer with time. Decided to put the 15mm in the rear to keep the staggered set up of the car. If you think 15 in the rear is too wide after install; you can always swap them around with the front ones and do 15mm front and 12mm rear. But I would not recommend 10mm due to the cracking issue. i run 15mm on my stock wheels all around with zero issues. Gets it amazingly flush up front and just about perfect in the back. no alignment necessary.

12mm in the front and 15mm in the back make the wheels pretty much flush with the fenders. No rubbing or anything, hope that helps.

For me I think 15mm rear looks too much, 10mm I'd call perfect seeing as the car already has a wider rear track BUT, 10mm hubcentric spacers are hard to find. Would a 12mm in the rear look almost visually like a 10mm? I want to beef out the stock wheels but keep the subtle wider rear look that the car has with 12mm on both axles.
