Ok OP. I just installed my scoops. If you hold the drill bit at a slight angle you will avoid the metal part of the hood latch and the the screw that came with your scoops easily goes in. Hope it helps.

Hi,

I've just received my scoops and I'm not quite clear what needs to be done.

Do I need to drill holes through the scoops and into my car? If so why don't they pre-drill the scoops?

Afe scoops just snap-in, no drilling or screws needed for attachment.

There are lots of people here that say that "scoops" are worthless.

Not sure if worthless is the correct word? They do look awesome behind the grilles though.

Are there any conclusive tests that show that these are effective?

I will start out saying that I did install them in the hopes that on the highway they do something. But this video doesn't simulate the real world. A better test would be to disconnect and close off the connection to the intake and measure the pressure being created with and without the scoops. You may have the same amount of pressure build up without the scoops.

putting the air scooping abilities aside, dont these just help collect more bugs and dust into the filter?
