Autox Tire Fun (245's fit like a champ)
Check this out:
Those are 245/35 Hoosier R6s on a 7.5" Breyton. No spacers, no rubbing. All within stock limits. Meaty: Totally room for *at least* two sheets of paper in there: |

They are listed at +46mm . . . stock is +49, I believe.
Stock rules allow for a 6.3mm (1/4") offset difference from stock rims . . . which means you could technically put a 10mm space on there. |

So long as that meaty tire doesn't spill past the fender.
It all looks good, let us know if you run into any dynamic rubbing! |

Too small a rim for that wide a tire. Hoosier does not recommend 245/35/18 size on a 7.5" rim. They recommend a 8"-9.5".
http://www.hoosiertire.com/rrtire.htm Also, unless you are running more than stock camber then those will rub either on the strut or on the wheel well when the suspension compresses. |

As for it being too wide of a tire, remember that autocrossers are mentally handicapped and will do stupid crap such as: -Put a 285 series tire on a 6" rim -Spend exorbitant amounts of money to make a street tire class car slower than it was in stock form. -Stand around in the sun/rain/etc for 8 hours for the chance to drive around a parking lot for 3 minutes I've got the pins removed for the extra camber. I've done a bit of driving on the slicks (no competition yet) and I don't detect rubbing. If it does rub it will be *rub* not *RU-OH-SHIT-THERE-GOES-MY-FENDERLINER* Recall that someone was running a 275 on the stock rims at last years nationals. I wouldn't run it on the track or on the street, but for autocross, it should be fine. |
