I think 2.02 is the map your referring too. Some poeple went back to 2.00 cause it was more linear. |

Jeff - Is the ATR utility intuitive enough for a competent layman to set boost limits for each gear (steptronic)? It would be nice to have daily driver map that doesn't melt the rear tires in 1st & 2nd because I indvertantly get into the pedal too much.

Cobb usually releases a guide when ATR is released and it's pretty easy to use.. It's definitely not as easy as just go in with no knowledge about it and start changing things around but it's definitely easy enough for anyone to learn how to use it. Boost for each gear is pretty self-explanatory though, you can even set boost in each gear per amount of load being requested so it's a pretty big table.

If you've tuned cars before in the past with other software you should have no problem jumping into ATR. Most people just need to dive in and take a peak around of whats going on and do subtle changes (nothing too intrusive) to see how the car responds. Quote:
2.02 is now available Some like it some dont. Depends on our needs and wants. |

If im gonna go ahead with this tune, I surely wanna know what im getting into, now and in the future. Also, is this 2.02 the stage 2 tune for the DP's, etc. or just an extension of the orig tune cobb laid out. |

Its just an update. Different throttle mapping and such. Pretty sure it explains in detail on Cobb's website for all the updates. |

Had to remove the Cobb tune tonight for a service appointment and injector recall. 10 minutes to remove and no issues.
Drove the car around for a while stock and I cannot imagine owning this car without the Cobb tune. It is that good. Cannot wait to reinstall. BTW the 2.02 maps are great. Much improved over the 2.00 maps. However, I did not like the V1 or the V2 map so I am sticking with the standard map. I see some downpipes and ssk in my future. My first mod was Cobb and 2nd was the BMW PS. I have been very pleased with both. I also recently installed a lift so my future mods should be easier to install vs. using jack stands. |

Hate to complain...
but I am getting tired of waiting for so much as a peep on stage 2! I called Cobb in early March and they said stage 2 would be finished by the end of the month.... I have had catless DPs sitting on my workbench waiting on stage 2 for install as Cobb says NOT to install them on a stage 1 car for fear of overboost (yet I see many cars runing on stage 1)... Cobb, do us a favor, do not end up like Alufelgen and make us wait an eternity for the update. If you make us wait too long, the JB unit will be calling our names! |

From personal experience and off the record you will have no problem running catless DP and other bolt ons with stage 1. You will simply have a CEL for cat efficiency. (Or you can purchase an o2 modifier and get rid of that as well if you prefer). You will actually run less boost and make more power. |
