Has anyone ever had a car produce more brake dust?

I've had M cars, 3 series, and 5 series BMWs but I have never, ever owned a car that produces the amount of brake dust that my 135 does. My wheels are filthy 1 day after cleaning. I've tried the spray on products that supposedly repel dust, but they only produce marginal improvement. Has anyone gone the route of ceramic pads on these cars? I did this with my last E46 M3 and while I definitely noticed the difference in performance, the trade off was worth it for clean wheels on my daily driver. Thoughts??

2004 G35 Coupe had the same amount of dust. They were also Brembo brakes. A former girlfriend drove a 2004 STI with Brembo as well and they dusted like crazy.

My STI with brembos make crazy dust. Turn my light gunmetal wheels to matte black. And they don't even bite nearly as well as the OEM 135 brakes/pads

96 Eclipse GSX was about the same and Possibly my 08 5.7 RAM 1500 but those brakes had to do alot more work the way I drove it.

My car gets dirty from bugs on the highway, so brake dust or not I still have to wash it once a week.

I'm with ya man, my previous E46s didn't produce as much dust as this one but its up there. I've been driving BMWs most of my life so I'm used to it but the 1er takes the cake when producing brake dust. I'll be lucky to get 2 days of clean rims after washing them, I guess bigger brakes means more dust. Then again I don't mind the tradeoff for stellar braking performance.

2006 Evo IX produced just as much if not more brake dust than the 135i. I'm already used to it so its not a big deal for me.

My wifes ML mercedes was even worse than the 1er. When they needed replacing I went with an OEM spec. pad and rotor set up. Ever since then, no problems at all. So glad I did not buy replacements (pads/rotors) from the dealer!

When the 1er is due, I will be looking for a good aftermarket set up.

BMW's, known for their brake dust. Brembo, also known for their brake dust. Put them together, and holy cow batman!

From what I understand, sometime around 2010, BMW changed the pad composition to what I suspect must be a ceramic pad. My 2012 135i generates nowhere near the dust of my previous BMWs.

I would think that OEM replacement pads for the pre-2010 models would be of the new composition, but I'm not sure.

Oddly, my 128i stock pads create considerably less dust than any of the stock pads on my previous (five) BMWs... Go figure.

My 135i (with stock pads) doesn't seem too dust bad, about the same as other BMWs I have owned, perhaps a bit less.

Went to an autocross and a the owner of a MINI next to me was complaining that his wheels looked black at the end and he could barely see any dust on mine. I had to admit his looked really bad, almost black with dust. They were both clean in the morning.

My 135 with stock pads throw a lot of brake dust.
My old Acura TL had Brembos up front and they also were terrible.
Every other car I've owned not so bad.

My 128i is the worst vehicle I've owned for brake dust. My Suzuki SUV goes more than twice as long between washings and still has virtually no dust on the wheels. I wonder if part of the issue on BMWs might be airflow. If they deliberately get the air moving out through the wheel, it would move brake dust out where we see it and also keep our brakes a little cooler.
