I don't think there is anything particularly wrong with the interior but by the same token, I'm not particularly impressed by it.
I didn't really buy the car for its interior so from that respect, I think it is fine.

The interior of the new 1 series (F20) is a big improvement over the E82/E87.

agreed , 1 series is obviously aimed at the entry level buyer. My e92 3 series interior was much nicer , finer details even down to the lighting above the inside door trims. Still i dont regret the change one bit, the car (well i suppose the n54 engine) is just much more fun!

Anyone had noticeable creaks and squeaks after a track day? I know it is commonplace in the E90s.

I had a client's 130i hatch (2007) a few months back that squeaked like daffy and his extended family. It was pretty concerning actually!

The 1ner is a neat little car with a great engine option, i would sit on a cardbord box so long as it had the N54 package

Well, what you pay is what you get. For the amount of $ we pay, it is a fair deal for the E82.

Wow, thank you so much for all the feedback. I did briefly look at an E82 interior and I did think to myself "it's not special" and it seems this is the widely held view. Suppose you don't buy a 135i for the interior.

Interesting to see so many conflicting opinions here. I think it's pretty good, obviosuly not Rolls Royce quality, but for the price range it is in, it's one of the better quality interiors out there. Let's not get quality and design confused.

Audi's interiors are designed and look much nicer, but the quality of lower. More cheaper feeling plastic and fake chrome trim. Mercedes is probably a middle ground between quality and design. Comparable VW's are well... you get what you pay for... I can't think of any Jap maker that is as good, except Lexus. But then Lexus interiors are similar to Audi, look good, but are made cheaply.

Had a 3 series loaner recently and must admnit that the interior was a little better. But if I'd sprung the extra for a 3 series, I'd actually expect it to more than that little better. I think BMW is having trouble differentiating the 3 series from the 1er.
