BMW Performance Exhaust price drop

For all of those who are interested the BMW PE has dropped in price over the last week.
You can pick up a brand new one for $785 plus shipping on ECS
https://www.ecstuning.com/b-genuine-...t/18102208806/

I had just decided on buying one when I looked and was pleasantly surprised to see this.
With my BMWCCA discount I was able to get it for about 790 at the dealership

Congrats on a great sounding exhaust for the 135i! Had mine for years and I still love it!

Sounds even better with the pops and crackles of PPK. You should consider getting it either through an online coder or with your discount. I'm sure an online coder would be cheaper.

I do have the PPK already, which did improve on the stock sound, now i'm excited to take it a bit further. Just waiting a few weeks for the weather to improve

E82 vs e88

Why does it say it does not fit e88 but will fit e82! Is this an error?

Hmm this is interesting. I want this but have heard concerns over drone and I drive with automatic mode most of the time.

My only other question is...how can I keep the black tips of my exhaust as I would much prefer those over the chrome ones given there is not a single piece of silver/chrome on my car .

I read on a different thread that some have taken the tips from the stock muffler and pushed them on over the new tips. Not sure if this is something you would want to do but if you do I'd like to know how that goes

If you drive with your gear selector placed in the left position you will put your transmission in the sport mode and it will automatically go in to a lower gear which will increase your RPMs slightly and help to eliminate drone.

I don't have any drone to speak of and that is because I drive exclusively in manual mode and if while cruising I start to detect any drone because the RPMs have dipped too low I downshift and the drone is eliminated before it starts.

To me it's worth it... a little less mpg for the great sounds of the PE.

You could always keep your resonator and not use the y-pipe that comes with the PE. This will help to eliminate drone but will also reduce the sound/volume of the PE somewhat.

: That may be up to a phone call, I checked the BMW USA website and it lists the same part number for the e88 as it does for the e82.

Bummer... BMW Canada Parts online shows the new price of $1020CAD
That is a 25% price drop.
Even with my discount I paid more than that just a month ago.
Should have waited... since it is still sitting in the box waiting to be installed.
Oh well.

I know I'm pissed I just bought one of eBay less then a month ago for $960. I contacted the seller to see if they'd honor an adjustment...... doesn't hurt to ask

I actually prefer the stainless steel look of the Performance exhaust tips over the stock black tips. Different strokes...

I try to keep them clean. Hit 'em with just about anything and they shine right up. ONR, Griots Speed Shine, Meguiars Ultimate Quick Detailer, a little chrome polish. Gotta keep those babies looking good. Haha!

I love the sound of my PE. Lately though I'm wishing I could make it a little louder. I'm thinking a DP might help in that department.
I think I'm just feeling a little rowdy in my old age! lol.
