Deleting Mid-Pipe Resonators with PE Exhaust ?

I have a BMW performance exhaust on my 1er but i find that it is too quiet. If i delete the resonators, cats? in the mid pipe how much louder would it be ? any sound clips ?

thanks

Do you have the y-pipe installed with the PE or just the axle back section? The y-pipe that it usually comes with deletes a resonator to make it a little louder. If you have a n54 then deleting the secondary cats in the midpipe will also make it louder

Yup i already have the Y-Pipe and a N54. Im interested in deleting those two cats in the mid pipe but want to know how much of a difference it will really make ?

I don't have any experience doing it on our cars, but I know on my old chevy pickup deleting the cats made a big difference in sound. Much louder and more raspy. On your n54 you'll get a small performance boost from the reduced backpressure too

yes, I've deleted my secondary cats and it makes a difference in sound. you should do it. you still have your resonator? keep it. deleting the secondaries instead is a better idea.

My original setup:

Catless Downpipes
N55 Midpipes (no secondary cats)
Y Pipe (Resonator Delete)
PE Exhaust

Result:

Waaaaaay too raspy at part throttle, sounded like a straight piped 98 civic. I ended up putting in a Vibrant resonator and it came out much better. Experiment with it and find the setup you like, but i highly recommend having a resonator in there if you do not have any of the catalytic converters in.

Just google N55 PE exhaust. What you describe is exactly what the latter cars have.
