24 hours til D-day
Delivery day that is. Registration paperwork should be finished tomorrow, and as long as I can get my plates made real quick I should be taking my new 2012 135i home tomorrow evening!
Already have a crap ton of stuff waiting to be put in/on it.... Hell I have never even driven one but the anticipation has been killing me. Fingers crossed that tomorrow is the day!

Nice, congrats!
I remember that day, the delivery place was different than the dealership I ordered mine from. So my dealer took me in an E92 M3 to go get my car |

Awesome bro. Can't wait to c it in person. Make sure u post pics. I keep getting the pcs emails an it jus makes the anticipation suck more. But at least I'm not there waiting cuz that would make it worse so it's only bad when I think about it; which is often haha but at least there aren't many bmws here to rub it n.

Well she is safely in my garage. Sitting at 25 miles. Had homework to do tonight so orientation and playing time was limited...but first impressions are, I love it. This is going to be one of those cars that whenever I walk away from it I will do a double take and admire it. Such a beautiful car, and the LMB looks amazing in person.
Only thing I will have to get used to is the damn electronic throttle. It was a bit annoying but Im sure I will acclimate to it. Ill snap some pics tomorrow at work when I have some daylight. Nothing special at the moment, just a stock LMB 135i with a tint job. That will change very quickly though!

What is it you find annoying about the throttle? Maybe the same things I find annoying. I have a new 2012 and don't like my throttle either. There's a large delay, and when you goose it, nothing happens.

Pretty much summed up my initial feelings on the subject.

I've read a lot on this forum about DME programming screw ups when owners get software "upgrades" from the dealer - cars being neutered, etc. There was a YouTube video that showed an extreme example of this and my throttle has a lot in common with that, although not quite as bad. If there's a fix for this, short of shelling out the extra bucks for a PPK to fix a problem that should not be there in the first place, I'd like to know about it. My car feels like it came with the latest neuter software already built in.

I will tell you straight up though, only look for a place in Puerto. You will be a bit further away from base, but Puerto is more like the suburbs. You will be able to get a detached house, with a decent yard, usually electronic gate, privacy fence, and garage or at least car port. Crime isnt as bad in Puerto either. Hoever it is all about not making yourself a target. Dont leave valuables in sight etc. The crime isn't that bad, but parking in downtown Rota with valuables in sight is asking for a broken window from the Gypsies. Ill put it this way, everyone I know that has been broken into, which isnt that much, had a GPS or something else in plain sight, and were parked out in the open in public. Edit: Also try not to leave your base pass in the window. Pretty much stamps you as American, having lots of money, and leaving valuables in the car. Also: The window tint guy James uses is pretty good. Ill post up pics for you to get an idea of what my tint levels look like, but 300 euros for all windows isnt bad. Nice to just pick the car up and be good to go with tint. You can just tell him to have it done and pay him when you pick up the car.
