Dan,

Do you have install instructions for this? I got a template with mine that suggests new holes should be drilled.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Have Fun,
Rick

I purchased this from Dan last year, before the deal , and all you have to do is put the template over the existing deadpedal and drill into the OEM dead pedal. What you are doing is drilling out the "tabs" that hold the OEM one in place. Hope this helps.

So then, you can't use the oem dead pedal after this? I'm interested but need more details.

If the stock one is held on tabs, can't you just pop it out?

Just worried that over time it may get wobbly if you attach it over the stock plastic peice...

It is not attached over the stock piece, it replaces the stock dead pedal. You remove the stock piece, either by drilling out the tabs or by ripping it out and breaking the tabs. Both "methods" destroy the old dead pedal. The old foot rest does not just pop out.

The cost is cheap and it is an exact fit. The BMW instructions call for hot glueing the new pedal to the carpet and the new pedal has non-locking tabs that insert exactly where the old pedal fit.

Instead of breaking out the hot glue gun, I used a super sticky 3M automotive two sided tape and the new pedal is very secure and not wobbly.

Thx for the color, I order one late last week and look frwd to the install. Def don't plan on using a heat glue gun. Will do what you did, and also probably add some velcro tape along the inside of the dead pedal just for added measure.

Had mine installed over the weekend in about 15 mins (which of course if I have to do again will be more like 5 mins). I found it much easier to just rip out (very carefully though) the old dead pedal. If you do it by hand, slowly, and apply pressure to the specific pts where the stock retaining clips are, it comes out with ease. Dont try to rip it all out on one go though.

I don't really think you have to go through the procedure and drill out the clips per the attached cut-out diagram that comes with the ///M dead pedal. What I did notice is that the stock dead pedal has one extra pin/clip slot than the ///M dead pedal (5 for the stock, 4 for the ///M IIRC). No issues though.

I had to take out the plastic trim panel above the pedals (super easy, 3 screws and 1 push pin - just take you care with the latter as it is plastic). That way you can easily 'slip' the ///M dead pedal's top portion to the plastic trim panel on which it's being held by (in addition to the 4 slip slots of course).

Overall, an easy and worthy DIY job. Thx Dan!

I installed mine the other night. The template does a great job lining up the points where you need to drill, instructions call for a 10 mm drill bit but a 25/64th bit is fairly close, the stock pedal drill easily and in seconds the old pedal is off. I used 3M double sided carpet tape, covered the back of the pedal and installed, simple as that. The tape is very sticky, and I doubt the pedal is going anywhere soon in my lifetime. The hard part is getting up the sac to drill, but in hindsight it's no biggie.
Fran

BTW Looks awesome, thanks Dan.
