This thread has a lot of great info in it. Trying to find a good square 17" setup as well.

These are style 68 wheels, with 17x7.5J ET41 and 17x8.5J ET50.
Widest tires are (225/45/17 front and 245/40/17 rear).
Might be able to go to plus 10mm (235 and 255)...

Just did a quick check on Tirerack, for R compound Toyo R888 tires. 225/45R17 is widest for 7.5" wide rim, but rear rim (8.5" width) can accommodate 255/40R17 ...

^ Thanks, I known before. Its just most dont post alot of photos of them.

Here is another wheel to add to this thread- OEM BMW Styling 286 made by Ronal. They are strong, cast, and heavy but would look great on 1 series
17x8 ET 34 on e90 its fit with 225/45 R17
17x8.5 ET 39 on e90 its fit with 255/40 R17

I had a set of Prodrive P1 17" wheels on one of my WRXs and those were great. They took plenty of hard hits from big potholes in Baltimore and NYC and never a dent, crack or chip.

Got those wheels and they rust over a few winters, but they do look nice for sure. Not sure how they fit, probably not or if yes, then pretty damn close... Were thinking about fitting them on to the E82 when we were abroad to pickup the car and needed to drive it back in December. Thankfully, we didn't have to swap the wheels.

Bought the 17" M Sport wheels instead as winters.

I guess tire choice would make or break. They are 17x8.5 et39 after all in the rear

Apologies for reviving an old thread, this one is packed with awesome knowledge though.
Finally graduated college last semester, so i can finally start crossing things off the wishlist now that i have the time to work...hence why im here.

I have my eyes set on a 17x8.5 setup, also a huge fan of PSS' s and would like to stick with them. I'm currently running stock non-sport suspension, which will be rehauled but the stock shoes have to go first. Since I'm late to the game, my rim choice seems to be very limited after what I've gathered from this thread. Right now oz alleggerita hlt's have my eyes. Other than trying to cop a set of used arc8's, and wishing 17inch vmr 701's existed, i haven't had my eye grabbed by anything available. .looking at ~1500 max..not made of money, yet just want to make sure i have all the bases covered before I pull the trigger... noob crossing

Any news on this? In my jury duty waiting room and couldn't find your thread or i would have posted there.

Cheers for the solid thread,

Cheers for the solid thread,
Just FYI APEX LOVES to do Group Buys during the winter. Personally I'd jump on over to BF.c to see if anything is going on and/or PM them to see.

Currently running 17x8.5 ET40 on Hankook RS3s (245/40). I also ran on Dunlop ZIIs with success.

Need a ton of camber in the front and rear with fender roll to make it work. It's possible though. PSS Tires aren't as "fat" so you'll be fine if you stick with those

Did we ever see a pic of Stig's new wheels? I'm considering the same.

Here's my square setup currently:

17x8.5 TR Motorsports C2 w/ 245/40-r17 Dunlop Direzza zII

you will need to roll the fronts and rears a bit but they are nice strong wheels. I think it was ~$1550 for wheels/tires/tpms with mounting/balancing and that includes shipping.

Guess I can share too. 17x8.5 et41 style 42, 245 hankook rs3's. Easy on the wallet, not so easy to find. Few pounds lighter per corner, but still not light. Rubbed a lot on stock sport suspension. After rolling the fenders, it rubs a little. Very little clearance between the barrel and the caliper. Tiny pebbles like to get caught in there.

Excuse the crappy pic. It's all I've got.

That's really surprising a 8.5" et41 rubbed on the fronts. I know others ran 8.5 et42 with no rub. It must be the tire.

It's a lot of tire, for sure. I'm not sure what others are running, but when I went in this direction, I was definitely under the impression that 245's take some work to fit up front, regardless of wheel choice. My car was no exception.

I like that a lot. Definitely lots of sidewall though. Not a bad thing considering I think I've already bent a stock wheel. Where did you purchase them from?

Anyone know anything about the Kosei K6R? Or Kosei wheels in general?

They're both light and cheap which is scary but I can't find anyone saying anything bad about them.

First page of the thread he says 235/45/17 PSS. Is that the same diameter as stock?

Terry from BMS has been running a kosei K1 set up on his 135 with success not sure his tire specs. I have a set of rear and I think a 245 is the max you can get back there.
