By default or are you looking to perform an adaptation reset? I was thinking originally yes, but without connecting to my car I can't find the setting.. I can see the read fault codes but just can't remember what options come up after doing that.. off the top of my head... unsure, but MHD does.

I was just curious. In researching the DCT for this car I came across the many posts about its quirks and odd behaviours (my car does that rev “flare” to 1000 rpm and back down to 600 when the car comes to a stop). A few people had mentioned that while it seems that often-mentioned SIB everyone says fixed their DCT issues is making it work properly again, it’s the adaptations being reset that actually does it.

I don’t have a laptop yet with all of the BMW tools, so I was just curious if XHP did it. Thanks for the reply though. I think I’m going to have to bite the bullet and go through the pain of getting a computer to work reliably with the BMW software and learning how to use it.

There's a couple of programs you can run.. I would say that BMWs software is difficult. I have it on my PC but it's not very user friendly, and I'm fairly tech savvy... I would grab a Bluetooth or Wifi OBD dongle and there's s myriad of coding and engine diagnostics apps for Android/iPhone specifically for BMW.. I know for sure I had another free program that has an adaptations reset in their software.. just trying to remember which one.

I read about an Android app that could reset them but I use an iPhone so I forgot the name because it wasn’t of use to me. If you end up remembering, let me know.
