Why are Parents so Bad at Technology?

I have two kids, one 32 and one 26 - both of whom grew up with technology, as I've been in I/T since 1971. They both had their own computers to play with by age 5. Today I'm an I/T Security Consulting Engineer for a computer manufacturer. Neither of my kids can out-tech me except when it comes to video games - I have far better things to do with my time. Moral of the story - don't be so sure that your own experience creates a factual generality.

Come again? My dad doesnt pay for my shit. I got myself into university on scholarship that I earned myself, and Ive had a job since I was 14 and saved up my money for things that I wanted.

I pay for my own shit with my own money. and there is no reason why you should think otherwise, considering that all I said in this thread is that im on sabbatical in London and asked him to do something for me.

Hes also watching my car for me. Does that mean that he bought me my car? No. It doesnt. It does mean that he basically stole it though, because he loves my car and drives it all the time

I think they do. I dont like to go to sleep thinking, video games are a good brain drain for an hour or 2 before bed, its a great way to clear your head.
