Lowering Springs Combo!?

Hi Guys,

Welcome to yet another lowering springs thread. H&R or Eibach or Swift or Cobb or BMW Performance!? NO!

I am in the process of modding my girlfriend's DD. Just like anyone who consider springs only, coilover is unnecessary. Although, we all know we want either KW V2 or SC

So based on my research on the forum, the drop rate goes in this order (plz correct if my research is incorrect).

BMW Performance
H&R O.E. Sport
Swift Spec-R
Eibach Pro kit
H&R Sport
H&R Race

However, I have studies many pictures from all the forum contributors, and I think they all rake. Just the matter of how much. H&R is notorious for raking our E82.

Since I only need a small drop, 0.5-0.75 inch. I think it is actually perfect if the front can do 0.5 and 0.75 for the even wheel gaps look.

Anyone thought of combining different springs?

Please let me know.

J Lau

Eibach springs paired with msport(preferably performance) struts isn't a bad combo for DD. It's comfortable, can still handle potholes and bad road surfaces and isn't too low that you can't drive normally. Be warned that you will have to angle your way up steep driveways and entrances.

That being said, expect a shorter life out of the struts. I really recommend an aftermarket set of shocks, at the minimum performance shocks(koni fsd, eibach, bilstein, etc) to make the springs ride the best.

I am looking for something similar, and will be going with Swift when the time comes, paired with Koni adjustable.

This what I have and it is, indeed, a great DD combo. When I shoot out the stock shocks, I will most likely go Bilstein Sport. Everything he says is true about the height. The really steep driveways you will need to worry about, still, but it handles just about everything else you can throw at it. I like it because I can just drive the damn car and, for the most part, not worry about it. This is coming from a guy who was pretty damn low in two previous Audi's on coilovers. I don't think I will ever go back to that bullshit again. I enjoy driving too much.
