Mistawalls montego build thread

so i figured i put together a thread to document my spending habits lol (very poor apparently) picked up my baby in end of april of this year from the 3rd owner.

car was taken car of pretty well. garaged by all 3 owners. 3rd owner only had her for about 5000 miles. he put me in touch with the second owner who sold me his car cover that he still had from the 1er so that was cool. i still email him from time to time. he has moved on to a e92 m3 but still misses the 1er. first owner actually sold it on this forum to the second owner once he ordered the 1M. lucky bastard. Came with a folder full of all service records which is always a plus. had JB3 along with riss DPs and exhaust. came with some dyno sheets rating it at 403whp. not bad

I moved to the 1er from an e30 and while i still miss my e30 (i had big plans for... s52 swap.. it but it met with misfortune due to a misunderstanding and a greeedy tow truck driver

) and i am thoroughly impressed. i really love this car. although i do feel like i dont have as good visibilty in the rear as i did in the e30. other than that its great.

Well now that i have the 1er time for additional mods. why you ask? #becauseracekar

Went and got a CF spoiler off ebay for like 127$ shipped

removing stock spoiler. PITA

put the 3m tape on the spoiler

INSTALLED

Next for BLACK LINES

car had a nasty waste gate rattle and i was at 80K that left me 2k miles to get it replaced under warranty... good thing previous owner gave me the stock exhaust. luckily for me my dads is a mechanic so once a lift was available we slapped the stock exhaust back on and i removed JB3. brought it to the dealer left it overnight. they said my exhaust was loose and missing brackets so they tighend it and cleared the codes and if im still having issues come back....

fuckers. so i drove around another few weeks stock which actually wasnt half bad car was still peppy and it was quite. got closer to 82k so i said fuck this i need new turbos. went to dealer and said i want to physicly sit there with them and show them the noise. they complied and once the shop forman took a look he confirmed the rattle and we proceeded with the warranty replacement.

NEW TURBOS AT 81,700 SWEET.

2nd owner sent me this with the car cover i bought off him. pretty cool!

Well now that i have NEW TURBOS time for the poor spending habits i mentioned earlier. i had been looking at inlets. originally got some MMP inlets but after reading the install process i was like fuck this. so i sold them. but i still had the inlet bug. came across the True Form Tech inlets which were so expertly crafted i just had to have them. so i contacted brian and he worked out a payment plan with me and i was able to pay him off in about 4 payments over 6 weeks.

TFT kit once i got it in the mail

now that i have committed to inlets i decided to do some other routine stuff while i was installing those to free up space. so i picked up the 335is clutch kit a new water pump and motor mounts. i had bought the SSK from burger as well so that was going in along with the CDV.

thanks i will post pics soon. they are not on my phone anymore. so it becomes more tedious too add them.

Took advantage of that apex group buy. Couldn't get my TPMS out tho. Gonna have to reinstall those later...

Definitely. They're pretty subtle, but noticeable.

I've got V2's and so far so good!

Got the polypropylene lip today! Gonna carbon fiber vinyl wrap it then clear coat it to make it nice nice
