finally picking up my E90 after the big snowstorm, so unlucky!

I got a call from the dealer and the car will be ready
monday. Ive been so unlucky, the ship the car was
on broke down and was delayed 12 days.
Now it's finally ready and it turns out to
be the weekend of the biggest snow storm of the winter.
The roads will be a mess on monday. I'm debating
whether to keep it at the dealer for a week and
let the snow melt but i dont think i can wait.
I know the car is going to get dirty the second
I drive off the lot. Any precautions/suggestions?
I normally wouldnt care, but everyone deserves that
first two weeks or so where the car looks brand new/shines.

Mine was shiney when I picked mine up, then on the way home they had sprayed the road with anti icing, so my black car looked like HELL when I got home but I washed it later, it all worked out, GO GET IT

My 2002 325xiT looked brand new and still smelled good in the inside.
You know there's a thing called a car wash?
Rain or shine go get your new car!
Just think, you get to test out the traction control.
If you're too concerned, maybe pay to have the dealer give it a good wax to help protect it.
Good luck

I would be amped to go play in the snow. Just get it in the garage before the salt trucks, and watch out for the bozos driving SUVs like they are bimmers. And then drive to FL.

Isn't the snow at Northeast just for the next two days? I would go get it because I don't think I could wait knowing my car is right there at the dealer waiting to be picked up..But if you currently have a car, I would advise you to pick it up Monday.. Congrats on your new purchase!

Give me a break

Don't worry about trying to pick the car up on Monday. If you guys get anywhere near a foot of snow, everything will be closed down till the middle of the week!!

Question to NorthEast drivers

I always wash my myself so I do not go to car wash places. But how can I wash under my car so I can get rid of the salt. Can I go to a car wash place just for that?

I'd wait. We got close to 18 inches of snow right now and its still falling. Patience is a virtue or something like that. Right?>

I am in the same exact situation as you... I ordered my 330i on November 15th and now after 3 months of waiting, my car is at the dealer and my pickup is 2pm tomorrow.

Whats even better is that it has sport package so I will have to drive it like a grandma the whole way home.

There must be some do it yourself washes with the sprayers, similar to what is commonly found in europe, so you could spray underneath with high water pressure.

Also, going through a hand car wash (the ones where they have people in the wash instead of machines) might be ok once or twice a season.

I have my car washed AT LEAST 1 time per week at a hand wash place.
They spray the underside with a high pressure hose.
