Exclamation Visited ///M GmbH last night… and...

Hi Guys,

It all started when I received a PM from “Tres” from over on the e90 forum. Tres was visiting BA and wanted to know where some car places were in the area. As we go to talking… we both decided to head on down to Munich to see the BMW Welt and Museum. Tres had the perfect car too… a white 1er hatch! After we toured the Welt and Museum… I took him to BMW’s famous //M GmbH in Garching – a suburb of Munich. I find it kind of ironic that //M HQ is located on DaimlerStrasse! Lol

Bellow are my photos.

Enjoy,
Dackel

BMW HQ and Museum…

BMW Welt...

Inside the Welt…

So… after going to the Welt and Museum… we headed out to //M in Garching… and we got very lucky!!!

Yup! A white 1M parked outside!

Looks like //M also does VW’s! lol

Finally Sumer!

Some of the //M mules…

This is what //M looks like during the day. These photos were taken a few weeks ago when I rented a M3 for an hour from the Welt.

And this is //M’s other workshop… just a few blocks from the Welt. This is where all the prototype //M engines are made by hand – before production models start.

And finally here is our rental ride…

The badges are very cleverly disgiused so how do we know that it is really a BMW 1M?

I dunno man, I'm not even sure if it's a BMW. It could be a Honda

Thx Dackel! I def need to take you for a round of beers upon my Euro Delivery.

But it was a sad day today, I got word the BMW CCA Ring School will not be offered this yr. Was planning to do it, was on my bucket list :-( Oh well, next time I suppose...

5 GT

Wait, is that a 5 series GT with M-sport kit or just a white tape crossing that front bumper low area?

Awesome! It looks like you just missed the black 1MC that was on display in the Welt where the red E92 318i is. According to one of the representatives, the car that was on display was a completely functional model, and they were waiting on getting a partially functional model like all the other cars on display in the Welt.

I did find a VO 1MC with the badgeoflauge outside the Welt later that day, which was quite a surprise.

What's a 5GT doing at ///M? Also, is that an M-Sport X3, or the dreaded X3M? And why is there a disguised 1M hanging around the facility too? Maybe a CSL version?

My thoughts exactly regarding the X3 and 1M (excepting the 5GT which I don't give a shit about, ugliest thing BMW ever made). Hmmmmm.....

And great pics btw, thanks!! I was there last year and obviously so excited that I can't remember seeing the front of the building with its proper signage and advertising. Must have been dreaming...guess I sort of was LOL.
