Dealer Replaced HPFP, broke something, and Forgot to...
So I took my car in for service on Tuesday for the recall around 9am. They call me about 3pm and say they accidentally broke an air valve or something and it is not able to drive. They do not have the replacement part in stock, and must keep the car another day. Frustrated, but whatever it's not a huge problem. Then Wednesday I get my car back, drive it back to work, and leave a couple of hours later. I give it some gas and POP!! I hear a really loud sound from inside the engine bay, like somebody jumping on an unopened bag of Fritos. When you give the car gas, it sounds like a vacuum and an incredibly loud blow off valve. Almost no power, it can barely move forward.
I pretty much knew what it was after it happened, but after nearly getting in a wreck to get my powerless vehicle off the road and into a parking lot I pop the hood and sure enough, then never locked the diverter valves in. Not just one of them that didn't sit right, they totally forgot to lock them in. I am going to the track tomorrow and am fairly concerned that something else is not tightened up correctly... |
