Hate to do it .... I gotta be the guy who asks the 'what would you do' question.
Would you take a Sapphire Black car that's 2wks out, or wait for an ordered Sparkling Graphite?
SG is my primary choice, SB is my backup. |

Ha! I got the Black Sapphire. This is my firsts BMW and it had to be black. I chose sapphire because it is a bit more forgiving than the Jet black as far as keeping it clean. I am not a big detailing guy...so things hide better on the sapphire. The SG is very cool...it was my second choice.
I say go with the color that you really want. Don't decide based on the time...you will hate it if you get one that you do not really want. Yeah..the wait sucks, but its worth it in the end to look at your car...and know its exactly what you wanted.

You should go with Jet Black, I concur.

I like black better, but I would get the one that I wanted most even if it takes longer. It's way too much money to spend and have regrets later, so I voted for SG.

I had a black e46 and let me say I LOVE not having a black car anymore. I think I was getting a Darth Vader complex!

Get the color you REALLY want, otherwise you'll regret it later. But make sure you see SG under the sun where the purple hue comes out, some people don't like that.

There seems to be an almost 50:50 split in the poll as I write this. I voted for SG (see sig and you will see I am biased).
I agree with all the others who said get what you love. You will forget the wait long after you get your car, but you will live every day with a colour you didn't really like the best and think "what if..."

When I ordered my E90 I was impatient and wanted the car ASAP. I had my CA look for inventory or in-transit cars. I gave her my 3 color choices, in priority order: Arctic, Silver, White. She found me a white one. Turns out, I've very happy with the Alpine White, and since have the Arctic wagon. What I think is more important are the other options. My car has everything I wanted except the sunshade package. I'm okay with my decision. I think skimping on the "extras" and options will cause more regret than exterior color.
