Tranny grind

Does anybody on here have any grinds when shifting from 1rst to 2nd? Mine does it sometimes when the car is cold, and from 1-2 only..

Yes the clutch is fully pressed, and there is 0 obstruction for the full depression.

I am just worried if its the cold weather (iam from canada) or if something is wrong with the car? If I skip shift 1-3, then nothing...

That's funny, I think I'm experiencing the same thing. I've only had my car a month, but only take it out when the roads are clear. I do notice a grind going from first to second. Car only has 400km on it. Down here in Windsor-not as cold as Calgary...but still noticing it.

Should something change, I'll let you know.

Mine is a little "geary" going into 3rd when it's cold. No problems when it is warm.

Its not a loud crunch, but a little resistance and grind i guess. Can this lead to issues long term? Should I bring the car in for service beacause of this?

It is the CDV - clutch delay valve. Lots of posts about in on this forum over the past year. It will get better after 2k miles.

Clutch delay valve doesn't have anything to do with gear grind. The delay is only as the clutch is releasing. The transmission is already in gear at that point.

The grind going from 1-2 improves over time because the syncros take a while to break in. It was really bad on my car when I first got it, but now with 23k it's not there at all.

My car has now about 16K miles... So you are saying that it went away as you put on more miles?
Have you ever brought it to the dealers attention, and if so, what did they say?
I was thinking of installing my CDV, but i might wait as I dont want them to give me a hard time because of the CDV.

Yes, it went away as the transmission got more use.

My dealer is useless, so I don't bother bringing anything to them. Besides, there's nothing to show them now. It works fine.

I totally thought somebody would be on that earlier... haha. Trans grind would of been more appropriate, but less funny...
