Production started.

Called the 800 number since no information came up online. BMW confirmed that production of my car has begun. They were not sure where it was in production (paint shop, etc), but I don't care. Just glad to know it is being built right now!

THANK YOU! lol

I assumed you meant "talk to a rep" so I did and the same happened for me. He said that the car was being built, but he just wasn't sure exactly where it was; however, he did say it was somewhere in the body shop lol. But that's progress!

I got my production number from the CA when I ordered the car on June 22nd. CA called me today and gave me the VIN. He checked while I was on the phone, and said my car was out of the paint shop and being prepared for assembly.

I also got my production number June 22nd. Ask your CA to send you the PDF from dealerspeed.com that will have you production number on it. Or he could just give it to you over the phone.

I actually ordered through a car broker, not at BMW dealership. I've gone through this before with my old e92, it can get obsessive with checking...

Question for those who ordered a 2013 already: How were you able to option and configure your cars if the online configurator for the 2013 1 series isn't on the BMWUSA.com website?

Bmwconfig.com is showing slightly different packages available for 2013 1 series (no more convenience package, new lighting package).

1. Essentially none of the options have changed. YES-the packages have "evolved" slightly due to BMW's "Package Harmonization" movement.

2. Because of this, you can still use the 2012 configurator as a good estimate to what your car is going to look/price like.

3. You can always ask your CA to pull up the latest information on packages and go over that with him/her.

4. Check these out: Attachments below.

That's great news!

I wonder how shipping will work. By that I mean if they will wait to collect about 100 guessing) 2013s and ship them all at once or if they will just put them on any boat (understatement) that has space.

they will likely batch them into groups to go onto ships - it wouldnt be "as there is space, lets fit a car", from my understanding.

a group of 2013 model cars will come over together, after the vehicles meet specific geographical criteria.

Wow, I'm really not liking the changes they've made to the MY2013 packages & options. For example: To get xenon lights, you can now only get it in the Lighting package which requires Premium Package. So what you could get before as a standalone option now requires a whole lot more attached to it, whether you like it or not. Same goes with Sat. Radio. (now in ZPP).

Here is the 2012 spec that I am trying to recreate:

To get the same options I had in the MY12 spec, the MSRP went up $2500 ($43,145 vs $45,645). Mostly due to the premium package which is forced upon me.

I used the bmwconfig.com configurator which matches the PDF docs you posted.

Yeah I'm not a fan of in general how the *28 models have to get the premium package to qualify for xenon lights.

The automated phone system finally picked up my order...Completion estimate is July 11th!

Anyone at the "Waiting for shipment" phase know when their vehicles will shipped?
