Windscreen Wipers (and I must be an addict)
First off, Happy Holidays to all at the forum! I must be an addict if I feel the need to visit 1addicts on Christmas Morning (nevermind the fact that I'm at work)!
I just wanted to share something ironic I discovered this morning just for grins. With the attention to detail that BMW is known for (with little things like a complete flash of the turn singal, even if you lever-off mid-blink) this is something I'm very surprised they overlooked: I turned off the engine, then removed the fob. When I did, the wipers were mid-cycle, so they were left half spread across my windscreen. I thought to myself, "Hmmm. That's not very BMW-like," but didn't think much of it. The surprise was when I came back to the car later and started it; the wipers stayed in the same position and did not reset by themselves! :eyebulge: I guess with so much attention to detail to other aspects of the car, it was easy for the German's to overlook at least one thing! I hope everyone has a merry and safe holiday! :drinking: |

You know I noticed that too a little bit ago. I'm make sure to turn the wipers off of Auto just before I shut off the car. Happy Holidays to you and yours!

that's also dissapoints me.. i really missed my VW R32 when it comes to electronic detail that VW programmed the vehicle.
and also they forgot to include the rain sensing function... my .:R if windows left open, they will closed automatically when its starts to rain. |

Happened to me the other day for the first time, was equally surprised by it. I think it's only caused if you do the engine off key out very quickly. Because if you just do engine off, the wipers stop, then pop the key out after a few seconds and they'll be down.

My wipers are even weirder, when I stop the engine they continue working after. Another problem is they are to noisy comparing to my Benz. Anyway I like my 1ser.

I have not experienced this yet as I always turn them off before I turn off the car but I do have a problem with the window washer sprayers. They barely make it to the window when I spray them. Sometimes they just squirt on the hood and never make it to the windshield. Anyone else notice this?

Either the spray pump went bad, a hose is pinched, or there is debris in the reservoir. |

That is what I figured. I am going to install the alarm soon so when I take it in to be programmed I will mention the washer issue along with a couple of other minor issues.
