Waiting can be the hardest part.... solutions?

Hey all, I'm currently waiting for my Sedona Red 128i to arrive. Will be coming hopefully at the end of November. Worst case scenario, 2nd week of December.

So, do any of you have suggestions on how to make the days go on by faster without going insane waiting for the baby to arrive?

Random thing, I'm sooo upset to see 2 other sedonas around Toronto.......128i cabrio and a 135i coupe....... I guess I'm not the only guy with a Sedona eh!

Order winter tires now so you can drive it asap, even if there is snow.

Something to look at. If you are putting them on yourself, don't forget a torque wrench.

I'm not really sure how people do it, wait months or even weeks for the car...

I waited 2 weeks and thought I was going to lose my mind

Some people here are waiting years... Really!

It's tough being a kid, saving up. I feel for you. To have to go in to the dealerships and have people look down on you because you are young, and to think you can't buy the car... Don't feel bad, I walked in looking like I had little $$$, and got treated about the same. I kind of like that though, it keeps me on my toes. I remember my banking days, from the private banking managers... people walking in even smelling... yet having many millions in 1 account.... Maybe that is why I liked the Corolla... I blended in just nice.

A little advice... Use the car as a goal. It's a great reward, and will help you become a better person.

Some of us got distracted at 18-20; spouse, children, parents, house(s), investments, holidays, travel, diving....

It's good to be on track again! LOL Keep waiting... it will come, when the time is right. Years ago, I decided to buy my first computer instead of a bike. It was the single greatest investment I ever made. I ended up knowing a whole bunch of people who were in wheelchairs and about 1/2 were in them because of bikes... sad... Glad I never got a road bike.... dirt bikes are much safer in my opinion, it's only your skill you have to worry about, not the other drivers. Oooops... I know TMI! Shall I del it? LOL, maybe in a day or 2.

I waited about 1.5 months.

I guess what really helped was I "was" not really a "car" person. I drove 2x Corolla for a total of 12 years. It has to be in the top 10 for most boring point-a-point-b car in CanUs.

I think 1addicts members helped a lot. It's amazing what is here. Those that get a 2008 for .9 finance and discounts are paying very little. Not to mention our dollar (CAD) is low, so comparing to USD purchase we are not doing too bad.

Garage List
2008 135is  [9.50]
2010 Cooper S  [10.00]
1991 318is  [10.00]
I didn't wait years, but i've waited 7 months. The majority of that wait was placing an order early to get 2008 allocation, while I still had to pay off some CC debt and sell 1 of my cars. I timed it perfectly as I finally sold my 350z in June, and the paperwork to complete the order to send to Munich was in July, for my September ED.

What did I do to pass the time, lets see.
1.) I got really addicted playing Xbox 360 - specifically, COD4
2.) I got so into COD4, I applied for a firearms license and purchased 3 pistols.
3.) I shot said pistols every weekend.
4.) I attended 2 Susan G. Komen drive for the cure events and drove the entire BMW model line-up.
5.) I test-drove a 135i a total of 4 times before getting my car.
6.) I took 1 vacation this summer to California.
7.) I attended 2 1addicts gtgs and 1 BMW gtg + worked on my other cars.
8.) The final wait after ED was the worst - so I bought a winter vehicle.

Hope that gives you some ideas

I like what EspressoBoy suggests, using it as a goal. Maybe you need to drop a few pounds, 2 lbs a week X 4 weeks = 8lbs? Or, committ the next 4 weeks to looking for a better job.

Failing that, reach out to the local owners and ask them to take you for spins.

It is really hard. I ordered in April and didn't get it until the end of June. It was a hard, hard wait. But, the payoff will not disappoint. That's what you have to think about.

Expect it to arrive at the end of January and in the meantime, carry on your life as normal.

I guess for me it was completely different since the car was at the dealer waiting... I had to get rid of my old car :$

After I found the car I went balistic to sell my car and harassed everyone. In the end, someone found out that a friend was looking for a car and BAM! Gone . Then the whole prep of the car, bla bla.

In the end it was a total of 3.5 weeks.

And trust me, I know the feeling of being young and not taken seriously. I'm 21 and went to the dealer where my dad has purchased his last 3 BMWs. Even they didn't take my seriously. They told me they had nothing to test drive, etc... brushed me off pretty well. I ended up at another dealership not too far away just to see what they had (since I didn't want to order it and wait) and got amazing service. He sold the hell out of me on the car

I hear thumb-wars can help pass the time. I've been doing it all morning in hope this evening will come by quicker!! (picking her up in 6 hours and 37 minutes...)

Trust me ... all of us who ordered went through the same thing, tracking our cars, trying to get our fill here, and generally stressing about the wait. I documented a number of suggestions here ...

http://www.1addicts.com/forums/showp...24&postcount=1

However, since then I found GT5 Prologue on the PS3, which has a stunning 135i and 135Tii as purchasable cars inside it ... With a steering wheel at around $150, Prologue at $50, and a PS3 at $399, you can get your own 135i simulator to while away the hours !!

LOL, the wait is just horrible :P I ordered Aug 3rd and I am going to pick up my car finally in about 2 hours and I am still on this site looking at pictures lol.

What I did is just bought a few book and some videogames to keep my mind off it all the time. Good Luck!

I bought the Logitech G25 wheel, PS3 and GT5 prologue to keep me busy during my wait as well! The G25 = best $250 I've ever spent.
