Tell me what I need to know about injectors...

Prior to my last service my 135i sounded like I had the 'ghost cams' tune when I started it cold. The issue went away most likely because of injector cleaner.

I also have occasional misfires and the JB4 drops to map 4 occasionally due to high AFR's.

I've also (potentially) got HPFP issues (low fuel pressure stays in range with E40, but high fuel pressure sometimes drops to 5 on JB4) - and I've found someone selling both HPFP and index 12 injectors.

So what do I need to know about injectors? I've seen threads about injector coding - do all E88's take index 12 (and I just need to get a laptop working with NCSExpert & Google), or do you need to find the right index for your car?

Thanks!

What warrants the use of injector cleaners? I'm crowding the 90K km mark and wonder if I should put a bottle in to clean stuff up. I know I'll be doing a valve cleaning sometime in the near future (probably around 100k or next summer) but injectors aren't something I can do myself without having the software to code them to the car.
