$89 Ebay Front Upper Strut Bar

I have the $88 Ebay performance spoiler. But does anybody have the $89 Ebay strut bar from Megan Racing? The link is below. If so, was it easy to install?

Looks stupid easy to install, don't know if it would be functional or not.

I just bought this the other day. Should be here on Monday. Should only have to remove the 3 nuts that hold the tophat of the coils to the inner fenderwell and put this bar on then put the 3 nuts back on.

I purchased this because I have camber adjustments on my bags, and with the stock strut bars I can't adjust the dampening.

Looks like it should clear the N54 intake housing no problem. That's what most bars suffer from.

I imagine there's enough room to take the cap off and snake a feed tube from a funnel in there.

Sorry for being such a newby.... but, what are the problems associated with adding and removing this part? Say someone was to add and remove once a month, would there be any types of concerns? To me this is more of a cosmetic mod bc I like the look. I don't track my car, so I am not expecting functionality. This question is for anyone but I figured Fifty3bags already knows the answer.

Why would you keep taking it off and putting it back on? It wouldn't hurt anything doing that but I don't see the point

I don't think the chassis is weak enough on our cars to flex enough to warrant this. This bar also looks like it would flex more than the car so it's pointless unless you just want the look. even then, it's not that impressive.

The best strut bar would be the 1M/M3 unit. Its not much more than this ebay junk.

Then why would BMW opt to put a stiffer one on the 1M?

Put the 1M one on my own car. I like it. It also a 3 point and ties into the chassis to reduce flex forward when braking. Another bonus is that it reinforces the top of the strut towers which are a weak point on our cars. Can get bent up from just normal driving.

You can have a local dealer or any online OE parts vendor order you all the parts from a 1M. Harold at HP Auto also sells a kit.

The one in the link is for the M3 version. The 1M version is similar, but much, much cheaper.

If you search here, you will find several threads about it.

I bought mine with employee pricing from the dealer, I seem to recall it was about $140 total.

Just an FYI, I installed this previously and it was super easy. Hardest part was removing the stock ones. Just remove the three bolts that hold your strut on and put this on the holes and tighten. I will say that when they shipped it the mounting points were upside down and I had to remove the bolts and flip them over to install.

I haven't noticed a difference at all. But I only bought it for easy access to my dampening adjustment on my bags, so it works for what I needed.
