Hmm well it would be cheaper then a 1M at the end of the day, and no doubt be a weapon once its sorted if you can put up with the 2 year type build duration and ironing out all the issues

The company that did the conversion of the S85 in the title sells kits with all the required fabricated parts to be able to do the conversion.

The S63 is 6000EUR, S85 is 4000EUR and the S65 is only 1000EUR.

The S65 would be the cheapest option as there are quite a large number of the engines and transmissions for sale (and for considerably less). It would also have room to fit an ESS supercharger and lastly it would sound better too.

Yeah I was going to say what about a blown S65, as I believe a decent blown M3 runs 10's?

Waste of time, can't use on the road can't get rego

As a race car waste of time, to slow stay with the N54. Or purchase a E92 M3and fit a supercharger, still to slow though. I guess it depends what you want and how much money you have, as you will need plenty

If power is your game and the road is your playground buy a GTR R35 for $135,000 it will kill any BMW anywhere anytime and that's a fact

I still love my old 335 though, you can keep all your hybrid specials been there done that, in the old days that's what you did.
But today forget it you can purchase a stock car do a few bolt on's and your there with out all the issues that come with kit cars.
Sorry to be a KILLJOY

Why wouldn't you be able to get rego?

As long as the engine was newer than the car it's going into (so say a 2007-2008 1er with a later s85) and you fit all the brakes etc.. You can have weight*5 in cc's so 5.0L is a-ok on these 1500+kg cars.

http://www.infrastructure.gov.au/roa...jan2011_v3.pdf" rel="" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://www.infrastru...011_v3.pdf</a>" rel="" target="_blank">http://<a href="http://<a href="http...v3.pdf</a></a>

And it's not always about 'the fastest' (which the s85 wouldnt be last at by any means) - otherwise why own anything other than said R35 or rb/2j/13b/4g powered? It's about being able to say 'well you may have 1000hp, but i have a v10 in this little car and it sounds like this'...

And the s85 recently hit 700+whp with a bolt on kit from gintani anyway.

Sell your N54 and transplant a S85 flinchy?

I agree with you both at the end of the day a transplant is never 100% right, there is always some niggly issue, yet there is no stealth factor if you bought an R35. Everyone knows an R35 is quick, but imagine being blown away by a 1series with the wail of a V10! Now that's cool

Sponsor me for it?

Could probably do a stock s65 for the same price as a built n54 (given you need the full m3 brakes and all swap) the s85 is another step up lol

Even a 1er sounding like an m3 would make necks snap.

If it was RHD, If it had NSW rego and it was for sale, yep I would try and buy it in a hart beat.
If some one asked us to build such a car starting with a 125 i recon your spend would be $80,000, and I still wouldn't do it.

Looks great sounds great but its just a dream in Australia, the RTA would the highway patrol would just and you would be screwed

A 1M is so much better. Yes the GTR is in your face it is very much Japanese and super nice to drive, but they look plastic, big, and now out dated.
I wouldn't own one

Not knocking you or your ideas as I know you mean well, but say you had $125,000 for a car budget what would you do ? work it out correctly no dreams and use some common sense.

should have noted *didn't mean to start an argument

don't worry i agree with you, if i had $125k... no issue, buy car/cars of choice... yeah i probably wouldn't jump to S85 swapped 1er as my first... fourth.. or 15th choice :P.. but if i already had an M5/M6, was an outright S85 fanboy and owned a 1er as a daily or something... well that may be where my illogical logic took me... Sometimes having something unique purely for the sake of being different isn't a totally terrible idea, and anyone with $125k can go on carsales and buy any car they want for the price.

under the right circumstances, i could see someone going 'THIS IS A GREAT IDEA' and were they to want to do it, i'd be kicking myself were i to dissuade them :P... And regardless of cost or intelligence.. it's freaking awesome.... i mean, *first thing that comes to mind*.. PPRE's 6 rotor doesn't make sense from any standpoint OTHER than 'amazingly badass', yet they did it, and it is ridiculously awesome haha.

What i'm doing, even i think it's probably the worst idea i've ever had from start to finish lol.

Minter 356A and maybe try and steal a speedster off someone. Or 993TT

Drive it and wait 10 years and reap the benefits.
