The BMW Welt is where customers can take delivery of their cars. When Americans order a car ED (European Delivery) they come to the Welt to experience the world of BMW. They are shown their car and explained the various features. They can see most every new model bmw available, understand the thinking and design behind the cars. See all the colors and trim and sometimes even special prototypes or Individual cars on display. There are a few restaurants inside the Welt as well. Across the street is the BMW Museum. Next to the Museum is the BMW factory where the 3er's are made. Even on Satudays you can schedule to go on a factory tour for a few euros. There is also BMW on Demand where you can rent any BMW by the hour. Even M models.

The Welt 4.0 is the fourth year a bunch of car crazy BMW owners have banded together to put on an ALL BMW car show. Only 1er's and 3er's are invited. The first year it was just a handful of cars that showed up. Last year at the Welt 3.0 we had over 220 cars. This year will be even bigger!

Hey Dack, maybe I missed it but are they planning to do the same thing they did last year and have us in the parkhaus? Or is that just the back up again in case the weather is shitty?

We will be in the same BMW parkhaus as last year. We have way too many cars to park in front of the Welt(like in Welt 2.0). We will probably fill up (at least) two floors of the BMW corporate parkhaus. lol

I hope we have good warm weather.

So that's our "official" choice? I'll reserve one tonight if that's the case.

Guys, keep in mind that the parking garage @ Motel One/Garching is underground and the ramp to get up/down is pretty fairly steep so if you are lowered a lot or have a Slek lip like Justin did last year, you may have troubles. The parking garage in @the Welt isn't too bad but once again, if you are very low, you may have some troubles.

Got my decals today, thx AirRik.....bought an extra one if anyone needs it.

BTW, Motel One won't offer any group discounts....i asked about pricing for 10-15 double rooms with internet and parking, they aren't willing to budge from 69€ per night for double room excluding internet/parking....thats extra. You guys want to keep looking?

Nice part is it is right by the U correct?

Im fine with that place as long as others are too. Hopefully dack can scout out a self service car wash before hand as well.

Thanks Rick for finding out that info on Motel-One in Garching. So do we want to stay there Saturday night only? Then maybe my side tour on Sunday/Monday. ???

I was out of town this weekend - I was doing some "researching" for a hotel to stay near Kufstein, Austria(I met with Andreas/Evolution80) and then I drove down to Stelvio Pass to talk to Francesca at that Stelvio Post Hotel(the place we had a coffee break during last year's 1Addicts/Stelvio tour. I think we should stay at her Hotel this time around. Its clean and charming. And Francesca is very friendly. She has plenty of room for all of us and will make us a good package deal on the hotel and food(if we want to eat there). Parking not an issue, since they can close off the parking across the street(where we parked last time) is she has another lot up the street for the hotel.

Btw Rick... she said to say "Hi" to the American who broke the Italian (coffee) law by mixing water with your Expresso!!

I found a GREAT place to stay at just South of Kufstein for after the Welt meeting. A very charming country hotel for ~60 euros per night. So far Andreas, Rudi and his son and I will be driving down to Kufstein after the Welt meeting on Sunday. On Monday we will drive to the Gross Glockner. Its about a three hour drive to the Pass. I realize this might be too much for some of you... but IF your up for a nice drive - this one will not be forgotten!!!

Here is what I propose....

Saturday: May 11th...
Stay in Garching at Motel-One on May 11th. Plan to arrive mid day so we have plenty of time to clean our cars and refresh at the hotel afterwards. Then go into Munich for some good German food and beer.

Sunday: meet infront of M GmbH just 100m down the street from our hotel. Caravan into the Welt 4.0 meet. See the cars and go look inside the Welt & Museum.

Then(around 3pm ?) drive one hour South to Kufstein and check into our country hotel. IF we time it right Andreas can show us this nice short twisty Alpine road for a little taste of Austrian Alpine roads. Then have a nice dinner at the Hotel or where ever we decide.

Monday: drive the Gross Glockner Pass. Find somewhere to have a nice lunch and some photo ops during our drive/tour.

Any thoughts?
