Let me know if you end up figuring it out cause looks amazing and identical to the ones on the 1 and I was looking at it online the other day.

My only other concern was visually if it would look weird and way to busy/clashy to have carbon fiber there but surrounded by the glacier aluminum trim.

That is exactly my point I think I might take the shot and see if it works. Another reason was I plan on soon going to carbon fiber interior trim and think it will look great with the carbon shifter. Hopefully I will let you know soon if it worked out

The knob will fit any BMW, the boot will not fit our cars unless you modify it.

This was my dilemma as well, I loved the knob but the boot is useless to us and you can't get the knob without the boot.

i did this mod and it looks great. the knob fits without issue but the boot is obviously for the F30. I replaced the boot with a new one bmw performance style from bimmian.com. the ebrake and shift boot cost $60 as a pair IIRC.

I have pics on my instagram under drinkcoke3
