Coding questions, terminology

If someone knows what these things are I'd sure appreciate a brief description/function.

- Normal Headlights range
(does this have to do with headlight vertical aim, auto aim?)

- Follow me home lights
(what is this)

- high beam assist
(what is this)

- pwm control of license plate lights (want to add lower voltages)
(the dummy how-to says I can add options, has anyone lowered the voltage to the plate lights, work well?)

- standing lights?
(rear the 3 bars on the tail light?)

- verticle headlight aim control (lwr)
(it this a manual adjustment to the headlights?)



... and please don't point me towards bwmcoding. I can't figure out where to post there, I don't see much about the 1 series/E82; and I don't know if the E90 stuff 100% transfers over. No one seems to mention what does and what doesn't.

Sorry, not in the best mood.

However, it took me 30 secs to get the answer on what is high beam assist; believe it's also in the owner's manual and BMW website.
